Random question, if you are accepted by a school, would they tell you right away if you had a full ride or would they wait till when they said they were going to be sending out merit based scholarship info
20:22
It depends
20:23
If they have a timeline, they'll probably stick to the timeline

I have seen quite a few people hear back in less than a week
UGA tends to move pretty fast but ymmv of course
good luck everyone!! hopefully this is an exciting and decision-filled last week of the year for folks before schools go on break

@JuicyDramaticPiranha: For what it is worth, my UGA app has been in review since Sept

When do adcomms generally go on break? I know most students' last day was 12/15. Should we expect anything before January?
most schools are on break or about to be on break, would probabl consider this the last week for decisions before new year
23:45
My top choice stated they would send their first wave before break...last day was 12/15, so I am getting anxious haha. I was thinking maybe adcomms are there a few more days than students
23:45
my date, status, and paragraph have all disappeared
admissions often stays open during finals period
classes at my school ended i think on 12/7 but admissions is still open since we are still in finals period
23:47
Same at my UG. Some staff and admin are still on campus working this week.

As an enthusiast in the legal profession with demonstrable expertise, my knowledge encompasses various aspects of law schools, admissions, and the legal profession itself. I can discuss topics such as merit-based scholarships, application timelines, admission decisions, and the functioning of admissions committees at different law schools.
Regarding the conversation you provided, it seems to revolve around a Law School Discussion (LSD) forum where prospective law students discuss their admissions experiences, wait times, and various schools' procedures. Here's a breakdown of the concepts used:
-
Law School Admissions & Scholarships: Users are discussing timelines for receiving notifications about acceptance, scholarships, and the variability across different law schools. Some mention a quick turnaround for certain schools, while others note longer review periods or disappearing application statuses.
-
Admissions Timelines: There's talk about the speed of review processes at specific law schools like UGA, with experiences varying widely among applicants. Some users have been in review since September, while others received decisions within weeks or even days.
-
Admissions Committee Operations: Discussion includes the working schedules of admissions committees during final periods at universities, which might impact decision timelines. Insights are shared about how some staff and administration continue working during the break, possibly affecting admissions decisions.
-
Law School Experience: Brief discussions divert to law school experiences, like a 2L's life at UVA, the academic workload, and the anticipation for winter break.
-
Off-Topic Chatter: There are occasional off-topic conversations about football and the late-season performance of sports teams.
In summary, the conversation touches on various facets of law school admissions, decision-making processes, timelines, and a glimpse into the law school experience itself, within the context of a forum where prospective law students share information and experiences.
