And FWIW, applicant volume seems similar - 1944 people logged Columbia applications here last cycle, 2041 have done so this cycle

MightyUnableSphinx

21:06

That is an INSANE stat

MightyUnableSphinx

21:07

~25-33% of Columbia applicants (I bet this generalizes to t14 applications in general) log their applications on lsd.law

21:10

For sure, this site is a fantastic resource

just as like a business that's insane

If a school has a first deposit deadline of May 1, is it a bad idea to wait until around then, like April 30 or May 1 or May 2, to send a LOCI?

In other words, should we be sending them already, or have already sent them?

a lot of people say you should send a LOCI around the deposit deadlines

the idea is that it would keep you fresh in their mind as they consider waitlists and stuff. i think someone here said they recently got off a waitlist very quickly and they attributed that to writing a LOCI early

so i guess around or before the deadline. i think as long as you get the file in and processed by the time they would start actually reviewing waitlisted candidates, it should be fine

Sounds sensible. Thx.

If im a hard stem major, e.g. neuroscience, at a T20, is a 3.83 gpa good enough for T14

KnowledgeableRitzyWasp

22:09

Yes but not because you’re stem that doesn’t really help that much

KnowledgeableRitzyWasp

22:10

T20 helps more

KnowledgeableRitzyWasp

22:10

But 3.83 is good enough for T6 as long as you get a good lsat

Undergrad prestige doesn’t matter, even for HYS

^ye

Plenty HYPSM grads rejected at HYS, and a lot of people from “normal” schools at YLS ASP. Doesn’t matter. What you do with your undergrad/work experience afterward matter

some of the t14 list the lowest GPA of their entering class on the class profile in their websites

22:20

what t14 are most super splitter friendly (3.4-3.55GPA)

i think i've heard people say Duke, Penn, UMich, and Northwestern.

22:23

any $?

I'm actually not sure, you can look at 509 reports to see how many in a given student body receive $ and then go from there. if you're a super splitter looking for an affordable education I would def look into WashU

sorry if that's redundant

iirc some schools actually do not offer any merit aid and will go entirely based off need

22:28

ik HYS is aid only, any others?
