If you haven't upgraded your Apple ID to two-factor authentication, your account uses security questions to help keep it secure. Follow these steps to change your Apple ID security questions.
About Apple ID security questions
Two-factor authentication is the most secure way to protect your Apple ID. If you haven't set up two-factor authentication for your account, Apple uses security questions to provide you with a secondary method to identify yourself online. Security questions are designed to be memorable to you but hard for anyone else to guess. When used in conjunction with other identifying information, they help verify that you're the person requesting access to your account.
You might be asked to answer one or more of your security questions before you can change your password or other account information, view your device details, or make an iTunes or App Store purchase from a new device.
If you don't want security questions or you're concerned about forgetting the answers, you can set up two-factor authentication. Learn about two-factor authentication.
In the Sign-In and Security section, select Account Security.
Under Security questions, select Change security questions.
Choose your new security questions and their answers, then select Update.
Enter your Apple ID password, then select Done.
It's very important to remember the answers to your security questions to avoid being locked out of your account. And make sure that you add and verify your rescue email address. If you forget the answers to your security questions, you'll need a rescue email address to help you reset them. Learn what to do if you forget the answers to your security questions.
Check your email: Look for any emails from the website that may contain instructions on how to reset your password or recover your security question. Contact customer support: If you can't find any relevant information in your email, reach out to the website's customer support for assistance.
After setup, you can find the "Forgot password or don't have an Apple ID?" option in Settings: iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Go to the Settings app and tap Sign in to your iPhone.Then tap "Forgot password or don't have an Apple ID?" and follow the onscreen instructions.
Sign in to appleid.apple.com. In the Sign-In and Security section, select Account Security. Under Security questions, select Change security questions. Choose your new security questions and their answers, then select Update.
If not, Do not try to sign in or change your security questions for a full 24 hours. After 24 hours use a device and/or Wi-Fi you've used to sign into the Apple ID with before and try resetting your security questions one more time.

On the web: Go to appleid.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID. Answer your security questions, then tap Continue. Tap Continue when you see a prompt to upgrade account security. Then tap Upgrade Account Security and follow the onscreen instructions.
If you forget your security questions, you can ask us to manually reset your password. Please allow up to 5 working days for your request to be processed.

If you don't have access to a trusted device or you're locked out of your Apple ID, you need to provide your recovery key to reset your password and regain access to your account.
You can also visit an Apple Store and ask to use a device on site. If you set up an account recovery contact, they can also help you reset your password.
