Turn off any anti-virus, firewall and VPN software on your computer. Try again to acess the Manager or perform the genuine check. Whitelist Ledger Live in your anti-virus if that worked.
A synchronization error may occur in Ledger Live when there is or has been a temporary problem with Ledger's blockchain explorers. This problem can be solved by first updating to the latest version of Ledger Live and then by clearing the cache after the service has been restored.
What happens when you lose Ledger?
Even though Ledger has this neat device wipe feature though — if you lose your device, we heavily recommend immediately generating a new wallet(and backup) on a new Ledger device, then send over the funds from the old wallet to the new one. Just to be extra sure!

If you have your recovery phrase, you will always be able to regain access to your funds. To access your Ledger device, you need to reset your device to factory settings and restore your device from your Recovery phrase.
