However, apart from pricing considerations and all that, Alchemy might be a better option when working with teammates, plus you have access to all the services you'll need without having to add your credit card details. And Infura might be considered a better option for solo projects.
Infura is the default RPC endpoint for Metamask wallet users so when Infura goes down Metamask users who are using the default Infura RPC endpoint are unable to use their wallet. Alchemy offers an alternative RPC endpoint for metamask users that is both fast and reliable.
In order to get the Infura API Key you need to register at infura.io Input your Name, email and a password, then click the SIGN UP button. Then confirm in your mail box.
Is IPFS open source?
IPFS is a free, open-source project with thousands of contributors. IPFS (the InterPlanetary File System) is a hypermedia distribution protocol addressed by content and identities. It enables the creation of completely distributed applications, and in doing so aims to make the web faster, safer, and more open.
Using IPFS (InterPlanetary File System) and ENS (Ethereum Name Service) you can host and serve your website in a completely decentralized way. You can think of IPFS as HTTP or like a CDN (Content Delivery Network).

Login to your account and create a new project. Give it a name and Infura will provide you the credentials. Click on the project and go to Keys section. Choose the endpoint as rinkeby for testing.
IPFS is built on Blockchain
Although it uses similar architectural elements like Merkle Trees, IPFS is not built on Blockchain but rather is designed to work together with existing Blockchain protocols.
You simply open up a browser and type in the gateway's name and the hash of the content you're looking for, and the gateway will serve the content in your browser. and you'll get back the data stored at that hash. The combination of the /ipfs/ prefix and the hash is referred to as the file path.
The ipfs.io gateway makes it possible for Internet users to access and view data hosted by third parties on the IPFS network. The ipfs.io gateway is a community resource run by Protocol Labs to help developers build on IPFS.
