YuGiOh Master Duel ranked is your standard affair, and you can rank from competing and duels and winning. You initially rise through the tiers which number from five to one, and after hitting the ceiling for a specific rank, you will be moved into the next one. Currently, tier one of Platinum is the highest, and there is no indication of a special rank for players who are high on the leaderboard.

The chance to rank up is also the chance to de-rank, and losing enough matches will cause you to move back down the tiers and even lose your current rank. Rookie is the only rank where losing doesn't affect your ability to rank up. If you manage to climb out of it, the lowest you can fall back down is tier one of Rookie too, so you will always have a rank on your profile, as this is given to you once completing the tutorial.

There is also a seasonal system, which the game calls a tallying period, which is the only time you can gain or lose ranks while playing. After this period ends, you can still duel, but it will not count toward your overall rank. The current tallying period is set to end on January 31 at 11pm. Presumably, once this ends, season two will then begin, but Konami hasn't spoken on the specifics for how long a season will last yet.

YuGiOh Master Duel Ranked Rewards

Players can earn a few rewards for participating in the ranked mode too, with some aesthetic and practical reward thrown in. Once you reach Rookie Tier One - which requires you to play on ranked - you will earn 300 gems.

Afterwards, every rank-up will earn you an additional 200 gems, and reaching a new tier will give you 100. It's assumed these will reset every season too, but it gives you the potential to gain 2700 gems if you reach the maximum rank.

To top it off, each rank gives you a new mate to equip on your profile. These are based on the animals in the rank icons: with a wasp, deer, hawk, and wolf standing as the ones you can currently earn.

That's all for the YuGiOh Master Duel ranks, and now you should know all the available ranks, ranked rewards, and how the ranked system works in-game.
