The toughest part of Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel, other than avoiding getting wiped on your first turn, is creating a powerful deck. It’s the same with many gacha games – in order to get what you need to play effectively, you’ll need a lot of packs, and that can come with a fair amount of disappointment.

Whether you’re paying for packs or not, Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel‘s packs can disappoint. But luckily if you pull cards you don’t need, you can still trade those in for the cards of your dreams. Dismantling and crafting cards makes it far easier to build your ideal deck, and with this guide you’ll know exactly how to do it.

Dismantling excess cards in Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel is the best way to work towards a better set of cards. Dismantling any three cards of a set rarity will allow you to craft another card of that same rarity, thanks to CP. Dismantling a card gives you ten CP, with that CP having the same rarity as the cards dismantled for it. 30 CP can be used to craft cards, so if you have a few UR cards you don’t need, you can dismantle three of them and then craft the one UR card you need to complete your deck.

In order to dismantle cards, move to the Deck menu and begin to build a new deck. Using the filtering options on the right side of the screen you can sort all of the cards you own or even browse the full library of cards available in Master Duel. You can also show how many of each card type you own, if any. Choose any card and bring up the Cards Menu – here you will be able to dismantle or craft multiple cards, in addition to finding out which packs or Structure Decks they can be found in, and which cards are related and will often be used in the same deck.

Once you’ve dismantled enough cards to have extra CP, it’s time to craft the cards you need. You should find a deck to work towards – you’ll probably find one of these online thanks to the huge selection of pre-built decks that have been uploaded and can be downloaded freely – of course, you can only actually build and use these decks if you own all of the necessary cards. This is where crafting comes in, so you can make use of cards you pull even if you would never actually include them in a deck.

After you’ve narrowed down exactly which cards you need you can search for them either by looking through a deck template or even name searching for the card you need on the deck builder screen. Bring up the card details for your desired card, and as long as you have enough CP, you will be able to craft it easily.

Not all cards in the game can be crafted and dismantled, but a vast majority of them can.
