Solution Magnets are stored with magnetic keepers because with time magnets tend to lose their magnetic behavior. This is called self-demagnetization. To avoid this, pieces of iron known as keepers are placed across both ends of a magnet. These keepers help the Magnet to preserve its magnetism over a long period of time.
