Step 1: Go to the official SSS website.

Step 2: Tick the checkbox saying “I am not a robot” then click Submit to verify that you are human.

Step 3: Once you reach the SSS website, you have to choose whether you are retrieving a Member or an Employer login details and click the appropriate portal.

Step 4: Click the “Forgot User ID or Password? under the login button.

Step 5: If you’re an SSS member with an existing SSS online account, you will be given be redirected to a window where you will have a choice on how you want to recover your login credentials. The options are “My registered email address” and “Security Questions”.

If you choose My Registered Email Address:

Step 6: Enter your CRN or SSS number (for member account) or Employer/HR Number (for employer account).

CRN or Common Reference Number is found on your Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID), just above your ID photo. Your SSS number, on the other hand, is the permanent number that you use in your regular SSS transactions. It is found on the E-1 form you used when you first registered with the Social Security System.

Make sure you’ve previously set up your security questions, otherwise, entering either your SS number or CRN will only return a prompt that says you have to set it up on My.SSS.

Step 8: Once you’ve supplied the correct answer, tick the box for the captcha. The system will then show you your login credentials.

Note that whatever you choose between this two will depend on what information you have available, otherwise, you won’t be able to find your SSS user ID or password.

For Employers, these two options are not available. Instead, you will only be asked to enter your Employer/HR number as well as the captcha.

Finally, the system will send a link to your registered email address to reset your password.

Step 9: Check your email for a password reset link from the SSS. If the message is not in your inbox, check if it’s in the SPAM folder.

Step 10: Create your new password. After clicking the password reset link, you’ll be directed to a page showing your user ID as well as two boxes where you’ll input your new account password.
