Risk of Rain 2 has plenty of difficult challenges to overcome. One of which is the challenge The Demons and the Crabs, which can have you scratching your head as to how to complete it. Let's take a look at the Lunar Item Gesture of the Drowned, and how you can unlock it.
Gesture of the Drowned is a Lunar Item, which means you can only get it from the shop or from a Lunar Pod. This item will reduce equipment cooldown by 50%, but will force your equipment to activate as soon as it's off cooldown. Like all Lunar Items, Gesture of the Drowned can either be incredibly powerful or downright terrible, depending on your other items.

For example, pairing a Gesture of the Drowned or two, a few Power Cells, and an equipment like Royal Capacitor will have you firing lightning strikes at any enemy you look at. On the other hand, Gesture of the Drowned does absolutely nothing good for equipment like The Crowdfunder.
How to Unlock Gesture of the Drowned
To unlock Gesture of the Drowned, you have to kill 20 Hermit Crabs by chasing them off the edge of the map. While the challenge wording states you have to chase them off the edge of the map, killing Hermit Crabs with fall damage also counts.
Hermit Crabs appear on the fifth stage Abyssal Depths and will hide around the map, launching rocks at you from far away. When you get near them, they will run away in the opposite direction. By approaching them when they are near the edge of the map or cliff, you can kill them by chasing them off. Do this 20 times, and you will unlock Gesture of the Drowned.
There are two ways you can approach doing this challenge. The first is to get to the Abyssal Depths and head to the higher levels of the map. When you see a Hermit Crab, carefully lower its health low enough to where it will die from fall damage. Avoid using items like Unstable Tesla Coil, Razorwire, and drones so you don't accidentally kill them.
The second (and easier) option is to continue past Abyssal Depths until you get to Titanic Plains on a second loop, as Hermit Crabs will spawn on the map at this point. Titanic Plains has several easy-to-access map edges that work perfectly for this challenge. If you go to the shop from Sky Meadow, you can spend Lunar Coins to guarantee the next stage is Titanic Plains.
Once there, wait for the Hermit Crabs to spawn, then herd them towards the edge of the map. Knocking them off here will ensure they die of fall damage. Do this 20 times, and Gesture of the Drowned will be yours.
Best Survivor to Use
The best survivor to use to complete this challenge is Rex because of his Utility ability, Directive: Disperse. This ability has a knockback effect, making it extremely easy to knock the Hermit Crabs off the edge of the map. His other abilities can be a little difficult to get used to, so try playing on Drizzle difficulty if you're having a hard time getting to Abyssal Depths or Titanic Plains.
If you don't want to use Rex or don't have him unlocked yet, any survivor can complete this challenge. Feel free to use your favorite survivor.
The Demons And The Crabs is a challenge in Risk of Rain 2. The achievement is obtained by killing 20 Hermit Crabs by chasing them off the edge of the map.

Gesture Of The Drowned can be one of the best Lunar Items if paired with the right equipment. When in your inventory, it will reduce how long it takes for your equipment to charge by fifty percent. The downside is that the equipment will activate as soon as the cooldown finishes.
Like all Lunar items, the Effigy of Grief has a powerful effect and a drawback. Activating this item drops a crystal-like effigy that cripples all characters, including the player, with in its aura. It can be picked back up. Crippling reduces movement speed by 50% and armor by 20.
Every player should try to complete The Long Road challenge, for it allows players to obtain the 57 Leaf Clover—the strongest legendary item in the game. To complete this challenge, players need to complete 20 stages in a single run.
No other item in Risk of Rain 2 comes remotely close to the 57 Leaf Clover's power. If you obtain this Rare item, you are in for a fantastic run. This item will reroll any random effect an additional time and use the favorable outcome.
Hermit Crabs are mostly found in Abyssal Depths, and will only start spawning in Titanic Plains after looping at least once, although their presence will be minimal until HAHAHAHA difficulty. The Demons and The Crabs Challenge requires the player to chase 20 Hermit Crabs off the edge of the map for it to be completed.
This allows Looting to work on arrows or thrown tridents, as long as the player is holding the Looting item when the arrow or trident lands. Using commands to get higher levels than 3 works as expected, adding higher numbers with a weight of 1.
Only naturally-spawned drowned can spawn with a trident and have a chance of dropping one. In Java Edition, a trident held by a drowned has a chance to be enchanted, but the trident's enchantments have no effects for drowned.
