Unlocking Jiraiya[]
Jiraiya can be unlocked via "Epic to Mythical" summons.
Mechanics[]
Jiraiya has an enormous range (full map if placed in center tile) and a piercing beam attack. His attack speed is medium. His main attack shoots a double-helical beam (think DNA strand), which despite it's animation, only has one damage tick.
Special power: Ice Slurry. "Jiraiya uses the spirit sealed in his gourd to deal ice damage in an area and slow enemies down." Deals approximately 1000% damage and slows enemies across the entire map. Note: while it hits the entire map, it will only activate if enemies are near Jiraiya.
Jiraiya is a versatile unit who can be used for both his high damage and map-wide slowing effect. His incredible range allows him to be useful in any position. He can be effective as both a main damage and support unit.
Jiraiya has a unique effect, which is noted in the last sentence of his description: On Wednesdays(as defined by UTC), his attack gets stronger. Twice as strong, to be precise, temporarily making him the 4th monster to be tied for the highest base attack in the game, alongside Amaterasu, Cheebs, and Swoleseidon.
Synergies:[]
Jiraiya goes well with Speedy as it allows him to use his ability very quickly. Jiraiya combined with Speedy can permanently slow all enemies across the field while doing large amounts of damage.
Another combination to note is: Jiraiya|Poseidon|Archimedes in the middle row, especially if Archimedes has evolved and Poseidon has a high star rating. This allows both Jiraiya and Archimedes to benefit from Poseidon's ice damage buff, and let's Jiraiya slow enemies down so Poseidon can deal more damage with his massive AOE. However, due to the extreme rarity of Mythical Monsters, and the extremely high cost of Special Monsters, this setup can be tricky to use.

Jiraiya's name and in-game description is a reference to Naruto, a manga series which later turned into an anime, about ninjas. In it, one of the teachers of Naruto, the MC, is called Jiraiya, who is a toad summoner, and had a crush on Tsunade, a slug summoner. Jiraiya is also a reference to the tale of Jiraiya the Gallant, a ninja who could shapeshift into a gigantic toad. This iteration of Jiraiya fell in love with Tsunade, a beautiful young maiden who had mastered slug magic.
As for the second part of his in-game description, it is a reference to a popular meme, 'It's Wednesday, my dudes', which featured a toad with the said caption.
