If you are having issues using your Binance API Key, then you came to the right place. This article serves as a tutorial on how you can create and link your Binance account to Crypto Pro or any other application.
Binance is currently the leading Cryptocurrency exchange in terms of trading volume. This newcomer opened shop in 2017 and managed to sweep the competition in under 2 years. Their sleek design, quick support team, and the high-frequency tweeter/CEO CZ all played a large part in their market share dominance.
So, What Exactly Is an API Key?
According to Google’s dictionary, an API is: “a set of functions and procedures allowing the creation of applications that access the features or data of an operating system, application, or other services.”
An API Key can be considered as a username that isgenerating to allow access to data. In this example, the Binance API is generated by the exchange andyou then pass it on to another application. The application will then importyour data based on the permissions you allow for.
An API Secret, also referred to as API Private Key is simply a password used in combination with the API Key.

How to Get Your Binance API Keys and Link Them (Steps):
Step 1: Generate Your Keys
1.1 Sign into your Binance account and click on “Account”
1.2 Click on “API Settings”
1.3 Type a name for your Key. In this example, we are linking it to the Crypto Pro App so the name “Crypto Pro” is appropriate. Then click on Generate Key
Step 2: Confirm Your Request
2.1 You should now see a message letting you know that a confirmation email has been sent out.
2.2 Check your email address. Binance sends a confirmation email for security purposes. It will be titled: “[Binance] Create New API Key”. Open it and click on “Confirm Key”. keep in mind that you have 30 minutes to confirm before the link expires. This is a security measure set by Binance.
2.3 The link will take you back to Binance and you will be able to see both the API Key and the Secret Key you just generated.
Step 3: Link Your Keys to Crypto Pro
3.1 Head over to the Crypto Pro App and tap on the “Settings” tab 3.2 Scroll down and find “Binance” 3.3 Paste both the API Key and Secret Key in the “API Key” and “Secret Key” fields.
#Pro-tip: If you are using an Apple device to create the API Key (MacBook/iPad/iMac), then you can use the Universal Clipboard feature to paste the code straight to your phone. Hit “Command+C” on the first device, then tap and paste the Key with your phone.”
3.4 Choose which portfolio you would like to import to and slide the “Import Balance” switch.
Success!
If you have successfully completed these steps, the workingstatus will be set to “Active”. and you’ll be able to check your Binanceportfolio from within the app.

Log in to https://accounts.binance.com/en/login.Select API Management from the user menu in the upper-right corner.Enter a name for your API and press Create API. Your API Key and Secret Key appears.
Obtaining an API key. After logging in to your Binance account, click on the profile icon on the top right-hand side of the screen. From there, select API Management. Next, you will be asked to create a label for the API key.
Register and log in to your Binance account, then go to [API Management].Enter the label API key and click [Create API].Upon successful creation, you can get the API Key and Secret Key.
If your API Key does not have whitelisted IP address(es), i.e. this API Key allows access to any IP address, your selected "Enable Spot & Margin Trading" permission will be valid for 90 days from the activation time. The system will automatically uncheck the permission after the expiration date.
Tap to toggle on the button next to [Binance/Google Authenticator], then download and install the Binance Authenticator App on your device. If you've already installed the App, tap [➡] to continue. 3. You will then see a 16-digit key on the screen.
Go to your dashboard and click the API keys tab.Click on the All API Keys tab.Click on the Restore API Key button, insert your API key identifier, then click Restore.
Please make sure you have passed KYC on your exchange or your API permissions have not expired. For example, Binance.com API keys permissions must be updated every 90 days. The same limitation is if Binance.com is connected via Fast Connect.
The API Key and Secret (also known as Consumer Key and Secret) are the most fundamental credentials required to access the Twitter API. These credentials act as the username and password for your Twitter App, and are used by the Twitter API to understand which App requests are coming from.
API Keys is currently free of charge. If you are using Cloud Endpoints to manage your API, you might incur charges at high traffic volumes. See the Endpoints pricing and quotas page for more information.
(Please Note: For your privacy, we do not allow you to access the same API key twice on the system. We recommend that you jot the API key down somewhere else to find the key again for future use.)
You can use the same API key for multiple websites, or you can generate a new key for each site. You can generate up to 100 unique API keys. Using a different API key for each site allows you to disable the key if you're no longer using it on an active website, or have stopped supporting the project.
Binance now supports using passkeys to verify your identity for most account functions across different devices. Once you've added a passkey, you can use it for Two-factor Authentication (2FA) on all your linked devices.
In order to make withdrawals from your Binance account, you are required to set up two-factor authentication. Each time you sign in you will be reminded to enable 2FA. Binance offers SMS-based 2FA and app-based 2FA options. And although they promote Google Authenticator, remember that you can use Authy 2FA instead.
Binance.com is available worldwide except in the US. Binance.us is exclusively for the US but offers less than 70 cryptocurrencies, compared to Binance.com's 500+ crypto selection. Binance.us offers also low fees, as the global website, but takes longer to complete transactions.
Open the Google Authenticator App and tap [Enter a setup key].Enter your Binance account details and the paste 16-digit setup key you just saved.Tap [Add] and you should see a 6-digit code.
For cryptocurrencies, a private key is a secure code that allows you to sign transactions and generate receiving addresses. Your private keys give access to your wallets and funds, so, as the name describes, make sure to keep it private! Stay safe!

This API key should only be used by Binance Academy and should not be shared with or sent to others. Sharing this API key will allow a third party to access CoinMarketCap as Binance Academy, and any actions by the third party will appear as if they come from Binance Academy.
API keys are generally not considered secure; they are typically accessible to clients, making it easy for someone to steal an API key. Once the key is stolen, it has no expiration, so it may be used indefinitely, unless the project owner revokes or regenerates the key.
API keys have multiple dependencies that can result in errors like: "The user is not authorized for this operation based on …". Please make sure you are using the correct credentials and endpoint with the correct API key.
Store API keys or signing secrets in files outside of your application's source tree. If you store API keys or any other private information in files, keep the files outside your application's source tree to keep your keys out of your source code control system.
An application programming interface (API) key is a code used to identify and authenticate an application or user. API keys are available through platforms, such as a white-labeled internal marketplace. They also act as a unique identifier and provide a secret token for authentication purposes.
Do Not Share Your Key With Others. Your API key's secret key (HMAC) and private key (RSA) are highly sensitive data. It's strongly suggested that you do not disclose this information. With it, anyone can initiate an API request on your behalf without being detected by our risk monitoring system.
Log into your Binance account from your cell phone and go to the “Home”🏠 section (located at the bottom left of the screen). Select ”More” to see more options. Swipe the screen until you find the ”Others” section. Select ”API Management“.
