How to find out the number of Apex Legends packs you’ve opened (2024)

Knowing how many Apex Packs you’ve opened in Apex Legends is key to knowing how close you are to unlocking an Heirloom weapon or Prestige skin, the Mythic rarity items that are usually the most interesting in the game. And fortunately, there is a nifty calculator to help you out.

There’s a tiny chance Heirloom shards will drop in any regular Apex Pack, but all players are guaranteed to get Heirloom Shards with which they can unlock an Heirloom or Prestige skin set when they’ve opened 500 Apex Packs (a system sometimes called “bad luck protection”). And if you want to know how close you are to that magic 500 number, you’re in luck.

The previously mentioned calculator only creates an estimate, but it gives you an idea of how far you have to go until you get those Heirloom Shards.

Here’s how to use the Apex Packs Calculator to estimate where you are in your Heirloom journey.

How many Apex packs have I opened?

The best way to find out how many Packs you’ve opened in Apex Legends is to go to the Apex Packs Calculator and input your account level. For a more detailed, step-by-step guide, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Apex Legends Status’ Apex Packs Calculator.
  2. Once there, type in your account level in the corresponding box of the calculator. This number can be found above your head in the Apex lobby when you’re not queued and you have a non-ranked mode selected. It’s also on the level badge that will appear on your banner by default (unless you’ve swapped that badge out).
  3. If you want to input everything, you can type in the number of Twitch Prime packs earned and how many you’ve purchased.
  4. Once you’ve put your account level in, the calculator automatically generates how many Packs you’ve earned from those levels.

For example, if your account level is 200, you’d input that into the calculator, and the number of Packs opened would be 109 or about 21.8 percent of the total. The calculator also gives you the number of Packs until a guaranteed Heirloom, which in this case would be 391.

Using your battle pass level to see how many Apex Packs you’ve opened

You can also input your battle pass level for each season and note whether you purchased the premium battle pass for each one. All of the site’s data is current as of season 17.

To determine what battle pass level you achieved in past seasons, you’ll need to:

  1. Head to any legend’s Banner section under the Legend tab and find the badge for that season. The number on the badge is the level you reached. The seasons are organized by year on the calculator, so scroll down to find everything.
  2. Once you know the badge number, input the number into the correct season, and it will generate how many packs you’ve earned that season. Don’t forget to check the box if you purchased the battle pass that season.

Other ways to see how many other Apex Packs you’ve opened

There’s also an option to input how many Apex Packs you’ve purchased from the store and entries for events, quests, and Twitch Prime members.

This one is where I had the most trouble, as it’s very difficult to tell just how many Apex Packs I’ve purchased here and there over the years. The best thing to do if you haven’t written down the exact number of packs is to estimate how many you’ve purchased or received via some of these other methods. While I didn’t guess completely correctly, I did manage to accurately determine when I was getting close to hitting 500 Packs opened.

Once all the information has been added to the calculator, you can get a rough total of the number of Apex Packs you’ve opened by adding up all of the numbers, as this will give you an estimate of the total amount of Apex Packs you’ve opened during your playing time.

For those with disposable income, this probably doesn’t mean much if you were already planning on buying a ton of packs. But if you’re on a budget and you’re getting close to 500 for an Heirloom, you might want to hold off on purchasing more and go for better deals, like the packs you can earn from a battle pass or treasure packs.

Also, the bad luck protection resets every time you unlock Heirloom Shards. So whenever you open Heirloom Shards, that 500 number will be effectively reset to zero. Make a note of whenever that happens so you can accurately track how many Packs you have to go before you hit 500 again or receive your next set of Heirloom Shards.
