How to Dispute Negative Feedback on eBay (2024)

Selling through eBay gives your company access to over 100 million potential customers, but negative feedback from one of them could make others think twice before buying from you. If your efforts to resolve the issues directly with the unsatisfied customer have failed, eBay gives you two venues for disputing negative feedback: you can submit a formal request through eBay for the buyer to revise his feedback, and you can post your own argument about why the feedback is inaccurate for eBay to display beneath the negative feedback.

Feedback Revision

    Log in to Ebay and go to the "Request Feedback Revision" page (see the link in Resources).

    Select the item whose buyer's feedback you want to dispute. Select the general reason under "Give the buyer a reason for the request."

    Fill in the details of why you are disputing the feedback in the text box, then click the "send" button. If the buyer decides not to change his feedback, you can reply to the feedback to display your dispute under the feedback itself.

Responding to the Feedback

    Go to the "Feedback Forum" and click on "Reply to Feedback Recieved" on the right side of the page.

    Click the "Reply" link next to the feedback which you want to dispute. Enter the your case for why the feedback does not accurately reflect the transaction in the text box.
