Define Chart Layouts (2024)

Definition

A chart layout contains the information for the structure and design of the various graphs. It determines which graphs are displayed and how they are arranged.

Chart elements must be integrated in chart layouts for Smart Chart to be able to display these in graphs.

As administrator you can use the following options to create a chart layout:

You can use chart layouts, which you created in the i.s.h.med charting component, in Smart Chart also. In such cases, the system automatically transfers the days in advance from the old chart layouts.

Note

Note that the system only displays nursing graphs in the ward documentation work station.

Integration of Chart Elements

Choose +Chart Elements to select the desired elements from the list of available chart elements. To simultaneously select several chart elements for transfer, use the CTRL key. You can use the arrow keys to move the elements and thus control how they are aligned in the graph.

Definition of Period

In the chart layout you can define the following time information:

  • Definition of evaluation period

Smart Chart automatically applies the start and end of the evaluation period from the case/period selection in the patient profile. You thus do not enter a period from which the system is to read the patient data when Smart Chart is called. You can enter a number of days in advance. This specification is used to display further days after the current day and enables, for example, planned procedures to be processed.

    Note

If you are analyzing closed treatment cases that are in the past, the system ignores the entry for the days in advance.

  • Definition of initial display period

In the initial display period you specify which time section from the evaluation period the system should display when calling Smart Chart in the display area of the graphs and in the graph preview of the time bar navigation area.

Example

You can determine, for example, the current calendar week as the initial display period. If you admit the patient in the middle of the selected calendar week, the system will only display the days since the admission when selecting a case for this patient.

The selection criteria for the Smart Chart and the initial display period are defined in days. The smallest period which can be displayed is 0.25 days (corresponds to 6 hours).

Display periods can be a multiple of 6 hours, for example, 1.5 days.

Note

If the values are different to this, the system will automatically round up the entered value to the next highest valid value.
