We’ll walk you through all the best things to buy in April so you can score the best deals for spring and summer.

1. Easter-themed foods and decor
Easter is Sunday, April 9 this year. Usually right after the holiday (and maybe even a couple of days before at some stores), you can find big savings on all things Easter — for example, we’ve scored great deals shopping Target’s Easter clearance. To snag the best of the clearance lot, go early in the day.
Target and Walgreens typically start their sales at 50% off the day after Easter and go down to 90% off about a week after the holiday. On the other hand, Walmart typically marks down their holiday clearance to 75% off just two days after a holiday. Their clearance will reach 90% off after about a week, but shop earlier for a better selection.
Watch for steep clearance on plastic Easter eggs, chocolate bunnies, and other candy like Peeps.

2. Vitamins
National Vitamin C Day is April 4, but it’s like vitamin companies are throwing deals at us on all the vitamins this month. Watch for stock-up prices on multivitamins for adults and children, along with various supplements.
In 2022 I saw Olly brand vitamins for up to 90% off at Walgreens in April!

3. Baking Ingredients and tools
I’m guessing it’s because of Easter, but in April, baking products like food dyes/coloring, sugar, spices, baking mixes, flour, chocolate chips, and refrigerated cookie dough often go on sale.
Also watch for deals on baking tools like mixing bowls, measuring cup sets, spatulas, pans, and the like. In 2022 Walmart ran a big sale on Pioneer Woman bowls and baking items during April — up to 60% off. Similar to what we saw in terms of Pioneer Woman Black Friday deals!

4. Pretzels
Not only is April National Soft Pretzel Month, but April 26 is also National Pretzel Day. So this is the month to fill your pantry with pretzels and your freezer with soft pretzels.
Both Kroger and Walmart offered a deal on Super Pretzel soft pretzels in 2022. An 8-pretzel pack was only $0.50 after a manufacturer coupon and an Ibotta rebate! That’s a whopping 80% off.
Kroger also offered a free digital coupon for a free bag of Rold Gold pretzels.
Don’t forget about your favorite pretzel shop. In the past Auntie Anne’s, Pretzelmaker, Philly Pretzel Factory, and more all gave away free pretzels during April.
5. Beer
National Beer Day is April 7 and New Beer’s Eve is April 6, so you’ll have no shortage of reasons to stock your fridge with beer.
In 2022 Walgreens ran a beer clearance, offering popular brands like Guinness and Lagunitas at a 50% discount.

6. Mulch, Miracle-Gro, and Hanging flower baskets
April is Lawn and Garden Month, so it’s pretty handy that it’s also when Home Depot’s Spring Black Friday and Lowe’s SpringFest happen, too. In fact, $2 bags of mulch have already hit at both stores — this is the lowest price of the year, and more hot deals are following.
Lowe’s spring sale started March 30, and we’re keeping you updated on all the the Lowe’s SpringFest deals on the daily. New deals are announced each week through April 27, so the savings will be deep!
If you’re shopping at Home Depot or Lowe’s, keep in mind they both have Low-Price Guarantees. This means they’ll both match a local competitor’s sale price. Even better? Home Depot beat a competitor’s price by an additional 10%.

7. Makeup and Beauty Items

8. Men’s Clothing
Guys need new duds too, right? I see so many kids and women’s clothing deals that I wanted to be sure to tell you to shop for men’s shoes and apparel in April. The best time to do this is during the Macy’s Friends and Family Sale, which starts April 21.
In 2022 I saw men’s sweaters for under $7, Adidas hoodies for 60% off, and men’s leather boots, canvas sneakers, and slides for up to 77% off.
9. Reusable metal straws, storage bags, and more
Earth Day is April 22 every year, and like clockwork, we see Earth Day deals on reusable products like metal straws, storage bags, Swedish dishcloths, makeup remover pads, and more. Watch for up to 30% savings on these items and more, especially on Amazon. Keep in mind a lot of sustainable products don’t receive super deep discounts, so when you see savings that reach this high, take advantage and stock up!
In 2022 Home Depot offered 50% off solar panels on Earth Day, too. So while that’s not something you’d stock up on necessarily, it’s good to know. In case you’re planning to install them in the near future. Might as well do it for half-price!
10. Patio Furniture
Not gonna lie, September is traditionally the best month to buy patio furniture because of after-season sales, but if you don’t want to wait until the end of the season, plan to pull the trigger in April. I saw up to half off, which isn’t anything to shake a fist at.
Right now, we’re seeing a ton of sales already in terms of Walmart patio furniture deals and Target patio furniture deals, including 50% off patio sets and under $200. These deals will continue in April!
