I know many of you can, which is great, but there are still a lot of items you can purchase and put in your emergency or just-in-case closet. Others will will to stock up in November for holiday cooking and to save for their gift buying. Whatever your reason, you can stock up in November on these items and save a lot of money.

10 Tips for Stocking Up in November or Anytime

  1. Take an inventory of your pantry, freezer, cupboards, etc. This will keep you from over-buying!
  2. Make sure you have space to store things.
  3. Don’t stock up on anything you don’t normally use. If you don’t use it, it is a waste of your money and you save nothing.
  4. Make of list of items you want and don’t be swayed by the marketing.
  5. Check the expiration date. Pull items from the back of shelves whenever possible for later expiration times. You don’t want something that is going to expire in the next few months unless you know you’re going to use it in that time frame.
  6. Look for items that have multiple uses or purposes.
  7. Shop more than one store – while sales cycle about the same way in retail, each stores will have different items available.
  8. Consider purchasing an inexpensive Food Saver to increase your storage time and put things is smaller increments; great for big bulk buying and work for pantry, refrigerator and freezer.
  9. Do not blow your budget! Yes, stock up on these items in November but only buy what you can truly afford. Do not go into debt to get them.
