Raw Scores
A raw score is simply the number of correct responses on a test. Unless you know what the test is measuring and how many possible points it had, a raw score doesn't mean much.
What is the difference between raw score and final score?
A raw score is based on the number of items that were answered correctly on a test or a subtest. For example, if a subtest has 20 items and the child answered 14 of them correctly, the raw score is 14. This raw score is then converted to a standard score. Standard scores between 85-115 fall within the average range.
A T-Score of 40 indicates a raw score one standard deviation below the mean, while a T-Score of 65 indicates a raw score 1.5 standard deviations above the mean. Both rank and T-Scores describe test performance in terms of the examinee's relative position in the distribution of test scores.
When you do a test or quiz online, your instructor can require automated proctoring. Your computer's webcam monitors your work and makes a video that your instructor can review after you finish. If the application detects anything that might indicate cheating, your instructor gets an alert.

Yes, it is possible to detect cheating in online exams.
- The assignment or test responses in question, if you have access to them.
- Any other relevant work you've done in this class.
- Your professor's accusation — an email, an official correspondence from the school, etc.
Don't Defeat the Purpose. Helping someone cheat is dishonest academic performance, is unfair to those who didn't cheat, and defeats the purpose of the assignment or test.

What is a T score?
A t-score (a.k.a. a t-value) is equivalent to the number of standard deviations away from the mean of the t-distribution. The t-score is the test statistic used in t-tests and regression tests. It can also be used to describe how far from the mean an observation is when the data follow a t-distribution.
Raw Scores: Raw scores are scores that describe the number of correct answers on a test or the number of tasks performed correctly. For example, if a student answered 50 out of 100 questions correctly, they would receive a raw score of 50.
Raw scores above the mean have positive standard scores, while those below the mean have negative standard scores. It is calculated by subtracting the population mean from an individual raw score and then dividing the difference by the population standard deviation.
A raw score is an unaltered measurement. For example, let's say you took a test in class and scored 85. This is a raw score, an unaltered measurement of how you did. You scored 85.
A T-score is a commonly used standard score that indicates the position of a raw score relative to the mean of a group, expressed in standard deviation (SD) units. A T-score of 50 corresponds to the group mean; a T-score of 60 is one SD above the group mean; a T-score of 40 is one SD below the mean, and so on.
