How many Cardano nodes exist?
In terms of network topology, Cardano employs three types of nodes: (1) core nodes, (2) edge nodes and (3) relay nodes.
The cardano-node application requires at least four configuration files to run as of writing this article.
By November 2021, over 33 billion Cardano tokens were issued and in active circulation - getting closer to the coin's maximum supply. Similar to Bitcoin but unlike Ethereum, the ADA token has a fixed supply limit with only 45 billion cryptocurrencies being able to ever exist in the coin's lifetime.
Each Cardano epoch consists of a number of slots, where each slot lasts for one second. A Cardano epoch currently includes 432,000 slots (5 days). In any slot, zero or more block-producing nodes might be nominated to be the slot leader.
Solana is touted to support 50,000 transactions per second (TPS) with over 200 nodes on testnets, making it one of the world's fastest decentralized networks.
As of Q4 2021, Cardano is still in the Goguen Phase.
As of December 2020, the k parameter on Cardano is 500, setting the saturation point (stake cap) for a stake pool at 64 million ADA.
- OS - Linux 64-bit (Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, 20.04 LTS; Mint 19.3, 20; Debian 10.3)
- Min 2 vCPU - 1.6GHz or faster (2GHz or faster for a stake pool or relay)
- 16GB of RAM.
- 100 GB of disk space (Ideally SSD)
- Good internet connection (at least 10Mbps)
The Cardano node is the core component that underpins the network and enables you to participate in the Cardano decentralized blockchain. Ultimately, a blockchain network is just a collection of interconnected nodes, all working together to validate transactions and blocks by means of consensus.
How many ADA are left? Cardano has a total limited supply of 45 billion tokens, and there is nearly 34 billion in circulation. That means there's around 11 billion ADA tokens left in the market.
Does Cardano still have a future?
Many experts predict Cardano to have a bright future in 2022. With continued developments taking place within the Cardano ecosystem and in the crypto asset market as a whole, we may see Cardano potentially reaching a new high. The estimated price of Cardano (ADA) 2022, according to experts, is USD5.
Solana Max Supply of SOL
Solana does not have a fixed max supply of SOL. Instead, what is fixed is the inflation rate YOY. The current total supply is 526,996,797 SOL, with a circulating supply of 348,837,796 SOL as of July 2022 (via Solana).
Currently, addresses holding around 100 ADA are the biggest representatives of the network, while only 3,042 holders have more than 1 million ADA on their balance. Compared to other networks, it is clear that ADA has more millionaire whales compared to similar networks.
There are more than 2500 stake pools available. Choosing which stake pool(s) to delegate your stake is an important decision. There are many differences between stake pools.
Cardano ($ADA) Now Has Over 1,000 Projects Building on It, Input Output Reveals. The Cardano ($ADA) network now has over 1,000 projects building on it, according to its developer Input Output, which also shared the nature of these projects.
Cardano is pioneering decentralization with a slower development process but with a remarkable Proof-of-Stake validation mechanism. Solana is a better technological product and is one of the fastest and cheapest blockchains but with a quasi-decentralized network.
Ethereum wins the game because they have been in the market since 2014, when Solana just entered the market in 2020, and they also prefer maintaining more transparency than Solana.
Network | Validator Count | % of Supply Staked |

How many Cardano coins are in circulation?
Cardano has a current supply of 34,277,702,081.605 with 33,934,048,405.593 in circulation.
Our results show that approximately 300,000 nodes are connected over Ethereum network, and among these roughly 139 nodes show a high-degree.
