How does Standard Bank immediate payment work?
All payments to existing Standard Bank beneficiaries are immediate, unless the payment is to a new or once-off beneficiary or the beneficiary banking details have been amended. Then the payment will only reflect on the next business day although value is given for the same day. This is also for fraud prevention.
5.2 Immediate Payments to existing unchanged Beneficiaries should be processed within 60 seconds. Once-off Immediate Payments or Immediate Payments to new Beneficiaries or Beneficiaries whose details have been amended may take up to 2 hours to be processed.

Since 2020, we've lowered the transaction fee from R50 to only R10 for amounts under R3 000. To make an Immediate Payment, simply select 'Immediate Payment' when paying a beneficiary from our Banking App.

What if I mistakenly transferred money to wrong account?
