Keep in mind that Interactive Brokers waives minimums on accounts with a balance of $100,000 or more. However, for those who don't meet the minimum account balance requirement, Interactive Brokers requires that traders generate at least $10 in monthly commissions.
The Five Requirements
The underlying equity security must be a properly registered NMS stock. The company must have at least 7,000,000 publicly held shares. The underlying stock must have at least 2,000 shareholders. Trading volume must equal or exceed 2,400,000 shares in the past 12 months.

You must have stocks margin trading permissions in order to have options margin trading permissions. US Securities regulations require at least 25,000 USD in equity to day trade. Cash from the purchase and sale of options is immediately recognized.
In general, the minimum required deposit is less than $1,000 for level 1 (entry-level) options trading or as much as $10,000 for level 2 or level 3 options trading. Even if the required minimum is low, it's always a good idea to have at least $5,000 to $10,000 to start trading options.
