What is the intensive review of the provost at WSU? ›

Intensive reviews include a two part process—the comprehensive review as well as a career progress review (a review that evaluates progress toward promotion and/or tenure where relevant).

Users shall not intentionally develop or use programs that infiltrate the University's computing and information technology resources and/or damage the software or hardware components of said resources. University computing and information technology resources should not be used for private or commercial gain.

Additionally, the Provost directs activities in the recruitment, hiring, retention and promotion processes for faculty positions. In conjunction with the senior administration of the university, the Provost develops and manages the portion of the university budget allocated to academic programs and functions.

In many but not all North American institutions, the provost or equivalent is the second-ranking officer in the administrative hierarchy. Often the provost may serve as acting chief executive officer during a vacancy in that office or when the incumbent is absent from campus for prolonged periods.

What is the difference between a college president and a Provost? ›

In most stand-alone universities and colleges in the United States, the chief executive officer is called the president, while the second-most senior officer is called the provost, vice president of academic affairs, dean of faculties, or some other similar title.

Deans are the chief executives of their colleges. The provost represents the deans to the president and the governing board and leads academic affairs on behalf of the president. The provost, that is, can veto deans' decisions and can order the deans to fulfill institutional objectives.

WSU admission is test free, so standardized test scores such as SAT or ACT are not required. If you are in the top 10 percent of your graduating class or have at least a 3.6 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, you are assured admission. A high school diploma is required, and a GED is accepted.

Policy on Discrimination and Harassment

An acceptable use policy (AUP) is a document stipulating constraints and practices that a user must agree to for access to a corporate network, the internet or other resources.

Excellent financial management skills and demonstrated experience working with complex budgeting models; an astute understanding of university finances and the relationships between academic priorities, budgeting, and fundraising; Honesty, integrity, resilience, humility, and a sense of humor.

While the chancellor and provost confer regularly in setting overall academic priorities, the chancellor focuses their attention more on external constituencies. The provost attends to the day-to-day functioning of the university.

Undergraduate students are in good academic standing if both their current WSU semester and cumulative grade point averages are 2.00 or above, and/or they are eligible to be enrolled. Students not meeting the criteria above are considered academically deficient.

The provost provides leadership to the conduct of admissions and financial aid for students, and is responsible for oversight of the quality and practices associated with undergraduate, graduate, and professional study at the University.
