You have clickable links in your document, such as fields, web and email addresses, and the like. But you don’t want them as links — for some reason, you want them as plain, unclickable text.
It’s very easy to convert them… once you know how. And as with many functions in Word, there are several methods you can use to achieve the same end result — plain text instead of links. Use the method that suits you the best.
Method 1: Use the shortcut menu: Right-click on the field or link, then select Remove Hyperlink.
Method 2: Use the keyboard: Position your cursor anywhere within the field or link, then press Ctrl+Shift+F9.
Method 3: Change ALL links, fields etc. in a document to plain text:
Warning!! Any bookmarks, automatic table of contents entries, automatic cross-references, auto captions or other linked field codes will also be removed if you use this method. And that might not be what you want!
- Press Ctrl+A to select the entire document.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+F9.
