Why You Need to Invest in Email Automation Software (2024)

Those of you that are building an online business know how important e-mail marketing is and how important it is to grow your list. All you hear is “the money’s in the list”. So if you’re not doing anything for your business right now you should be focusing on building your list because that’s where a majority of your sales are going to come from. That’s where you’re going to build relationships with your customers. That is where you’re going to find potential clients. That’s also where you’re going to be able to get ideas for future courses and future blog posts. Really an email list is the best way to be able to serve your audience and to serve your clients because that’s why we’re here we’re in service based business, we’re here to help other people with our knowledge. And you can’t really do that if you’re getting one off visitors.

Not only that but social media is a rented space.

It’s kind of like if you’re a hairdresser. You don’t own your own salon and you’re renting a booth that’s what social media is like. So those followers are really just living on borrowed time.

If Facebook crashed tomorrow or Instagram crashed or Pinterest crashed what would you do? Well, I can tell you one thing. You’d be hosed. If you have an email list, you own that. That is YOUR list. Nobody can take that away from you.

Basically if any algorithms change your business should not suffer greatly because you’re running majority of it out of your out of your e-mail list. You’re nurturing your clients and you’re giving value and you’re serving them and you can pop in there any time you want and you know that people are going to see it. Where as notifications for post to a Facebook group, those can get hidden or how your pins can disappear in the feed or how Instagram changed their algorithm. And unless people have notifications on for when you post the odds of them seeing your post are a lot less likely. But that’s not the case with email marketing. This ensures that people see your message. So you’ve got to make sure that you’re group building and growing your e-mail lists.

If you get nothing else from me today, get this. Focus on your e-mail list. Grow that e-mail list. Nurture that e-mail list and your business will be the better for it.

The main thing I wanted to talk about is a lot of people don’t know what software to use. Everybody is all hot to trot for MailChimp which is great.

MailChimp is a really great place to start because it’s free but you always end about growing out of it because it’s automations and campaign building are very limited.

I know that when you’re building your business you want to be financially conscious so you want to use as many free tools as possible, but take it from me when I say that going ahead and investing in a email automation software is money very well spent. It’s so much better to go ahead and start paying for a service that will grow with you because that’s what you want. As you grow what you need will evolve. You want to make sure the software that you have and that you’re familiar with grows with you. As opposed to noticing that your relationship with your current email software has run its course and now you have to migrate and find something else.

This is your business. Just a’growin’

BUT if you go ahead and start with something that you know that you can use long term and then you’re going to be so glad you did because you’ll have all your data from all the way from when you started. You’ll just be so much better off.

The e-mail service that I recommend is Active Campaign. I love it because it has all of the features that you need. But it really does grow with you.

If you have 500 followers or less, it’s $9/month for the lite package (which is what I’m currently using). That’s a drop in the bucket! You’re already building these funnels and building these automations Then as your business grows obviously the costs will go up but that’s ok because your sales are going up. You’ll already have everything built and you’re able to see what works and what doesn’t work. This saves you so much work in the long run instead of having to migrate from one thing to another. I highly recommend Active Campaign. I absolutely love it.

Make sure that you’re focusing on building your business. That you’re making, growing, and nurturing your email list. The number one focus of your blog that always needs to be in the forefront of your mind is to make sure grow that email list.
