Yes, but it is not automatic, You can have Acrobat prompt you to Examine the Document by selecting the Preferences for the Document to "Examine before closing" or Examine before sending".
These options only provide an automatic prompt to ask the user what action to take when closing or sending a PDF. The user can continue with no action, remove the data but not finis the action, or remove the data and finish the action.
The "Hidden" data subject to sanitation is the metadata of a file, comments, stamps, annotations, attachments, hidden text and hidden layers. The metadata includes the title of the PDF, the author or authors, subject, keywords, creating application, producing application, the Additional Metadata, and custom tags and custom tag values on the “Custom” tab for the PDF properties. Beyond the metadata, there could be hidden fields and hidden layers. Many of these items are automatically created by Acrobat or the authoring program and added to the file or PDF as it is created or saved.
The default action is to not remove the data, but this prompt is just a reminder for the action. The following image is for sending the PDF as an attachment to an email. A similar prompt will appear when closing an open PDF or exiting Acrobat with an open PDF.
Selecting one of the options to remove the hidden data will produce a display like:
You can then review the found items and select which items you want to keep.
