Is Fido Roam included in all plans? ›

How do I confirm if I can use Fido Roam? All Fido postpaid customers with an eligible mobile plan are automatically covered by Fido Roam when they travel to an eligible destination (Data and Text only and prepaid plans not eligible).

Fido Roam lets you use your data, talk and text from your existing Fido postpaid mobile plan (not available with Data and Text only and prepaid plans) in the U.S for $12 a calendar day or internationally in tons of destinations for $15 a calendar day.

If you travel between the US and another Fido Roam destination and use your device in both places, you'll be billed the daily rates for that day. For example, you'll pay $12 for roaming in the US and $15 for roaming in Germany.

Now that's one hell of a markup in price! I highly recommend you disable Fido Roam ASAP before travelling and instead, get a SIM chip for the country you are visiting. You will almost ALWAYS get a far superior deal to any roaming package Fido offers you!

In order to prevent unintended roaming charges, it is generally recommended to disable data and roaming data. However, you should note that disabling those settings does not prevent roaming for voice and messaging. In addition, some manufacturers might allow some data usage to occur despite those settings (see here).
