Honesty and integrity are key ingredients in developing trust. Trust is a key element in establishing credibility. Our credibility is at the center of our ability to influence others and provide strong leadership.

Proverbs 10:9 “The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out.” Proverbs 12:19 “Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.” Proverbs 12:22 “The Lord detests lying lips, but He delights in men who are truthful.”

We seek to be perfectly honest and true like our Father and His Son. Honesty describes the character of God, and therefore honesty is at the very heart of our spiritual growth and spiritual gifts. Jesus declared, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6).

As believers, we should be operating in Godly integrity, opposed to the craftiness and deceit of the world. It distinguishes us from the world. Godly integrity impacts our lives spiritually and naturally. And as confessing Christians lack of integrity impacts others opinion of us and the faith.

Here are a few behaviors that show integrity: Being dependable and following through on commitments. Being open and honest when communicating with others. Holding yourself accountable and owning up to your shortcomings.

Strong moral and ethical standards lead to numerous positive outcomes like happier employees, lower turnover, fewer misunderstandings, better client bonds, and deeper connections with the community.
