SmartContract, formerly known as ChainLink, is a blockchain company founded co founded by Sergey Narzarov and Steve Ellis in 2014. Smart Contracts' is creating a platform capable of monitoring external data sources like GPS and digital bank accounts that are then placed in the blockchain to prove contractual performance. In 2017, SmartContract launched Chainlink, a platform that connects smart contracts across blockchains.

The SmartContract platform allows payments between Bitcoin, Ethereum, PayPal, Visa, MasterCard, Swift, HSBC, and Chase. The platform also allows Ethereum to connect with other blockchains such as Bitcoin, and Hyperledger. Notable companies using the SmartContract platform are Swift, Gartner, Cornell, and the World Economic Forum.

On September 1, 2014 SmartContract announced raising an undisclosed amount of seed funding from Data Collective DCVC.

Initial Coin Offering (ICO)

On September 19, 2017 SmartContract completed their Initial Coin Offering (ICO) with $32 million worth of their ERC-20 token. The hardcap of the ICO was $32 million which gave participants in the ICO %35 of the token supply. The ICO purchases were made using Ethereum (ETH) at a rate of 1 ETH to 2,600 LINK.
