How to Send Bitcoin from Cash App to Coinbase (Step-By-Step)

If you bought Bitcoin with Cash App and want to transfer it to Coinbase, read below on how to do so.

Step 1: Open the Cash App and navigate to the “$” icon, which represents your balance.

Step 2: On the bottom left of your screen, click the “send money” icon. It looks like a paper airplane icon.

Step 3: In the ‘From’ section, enter your cash card number that you used on Coinbase or another exchange account that has bitcoin or at least some sort of cryptocurrency in it.

If you don’t have any other accounts, move on to step 4, as this feature is not available for those without a bank account linked with their money app yet ($10 minimum deposit on link).

Step 4: In the ‘To’ section, you can enter whatever you want as a username/email or just put in your cash card number linked to your Coinbase account already and hit next.

Step 5: You will now be required to verify your identity if this is not your first transaction with an external wallet (Coinbase). If it’s not, all you need to do is type in the word “STOP” and continue.

Type in the numbers they ask for and proceed to step 6 after hitting continue at the bottom of the screen. This process can take anywhere from minutes to days, depending on how many times per hour their server gets bombarded by requests that rarely seem to the customer service rep.

Step 6: The next page will show you a section confirming your transaction in a few minutes to an hour, depending on how much traffic the servers are getting from people trying to send their money out of the cash app and into another wallet or exchange.

It also gives you a deposit address for the Coinbase that is not real yet, so do not try to go there and “check-up” on your money as it just shows you the screen below when you get there.

Step 7: In about 30 mins after hitting confirm my identity, you will get a pop-up saying your transfer was successful. It will give you an amount in dollars with BTC underneath, along with a QR code showing me where you can scan the code with your Coinbase app and check your balance.

Step 8: To complete the process, you have to log into coin base, hit “add account,” and enter a 2-step verification code sent to your phone through the Coinbase App.

  • Log in or create an account with Coinbase. If you choose to create one, follow this simple guide.

How To Send Bitcoin From Cash App To Coinbase (Step-By-Step)

Below is a description of how to use the Cash App features for beginners. The first step should be going onto your phone and downloading/installing the Cash App from your respective app store.

Step 1: The first step is to go onto the “Cash Card” page, which you should be able to find in your feed or on a search bar. After going onto this page, you will need to add money into your account so that you can send it through a simple transfer of cash from a friend.

This can be done by clicking on the “+” button and depositing some fiat currency such as $10-20 dollars into my account using your debit card.

After doing this, I would suggest waiting until your balance is about $100 because when receiving bitcoin from another person, paying a fee for transferring the bitcoin is inevitable. You don’t want to pay more than you have to.

Step 2: After waiting for around a week or so, your balance will have been replenished, and you will be ready to send bitcoin from your Cash App to another wallet. This is quickly done by going onto the “Wallet” tab of the Cash Card page on your phone app. After you have clicked on this tab, it will give you an option that will say “Send Bitcoin.”

Underneath this button, it has a space for me to type in the phone number of the person receiving my bitcoin and a short description of who they were (optional).

If this step is not completed within five minutes, you will receive a notification saying that there was an error when trying to send money through direct deposit, but don’t worry because if you go back and retry, it should work just fine.

Step 3: After clicking on the “Send Bitcoin” button, you have to fill out an amount of bitcoin that you want to transfer along with the fee for the transaction. The fee is automatically calculated for you, but you can choose whether or not to input your custom fee if you want it quicker than usual.

Finally, after all of this was done, you need to click on “Send.” This will bring up a new page on your phone to display information about the transaction. Make sure everything looks correct here before sending off your money because once it’s gone, there’s no getting it back.

Step 4: After completing all of these steps, you will be ready to send your money. The cash app is one of the easiest ways to transfer bitcoin between wallets. All you have to do is press the “Send” button, and within minutes, your bitcoin will have been successfully sent into another wallet.

How Long Does It Take to Transfer Bitcoin from Cash App to Coinbase

It can take up to an hour to confirm a deposit into Cash App from Coinbase. This means if you try to buy something with your Bitcoin from Cash App before it has been entirely at least once by the Bitcoin network, the purchase will not go through.

Cash App specifies a 3-5 business day hold period to receive withdrawals from Coinbase; however, this is subject to change as we move closer to Cash App’s launch of Bitcoin trading.

Are Fees Cheaper With Cash App Or Coinbase

This question comes up on the forums, on Reddit, and on Facebook groups all the time. There’s not a “right” answer to this because it depends on how much you’re trading (and potentially how much your account is worth).

Coinbase fees: 1.49% (to purchase) + $0.15 (Coinbase fee)

Bitcoin Fees: 1.49% to buy BTC and then.0003 BTC per transaction (with a $0 minimum for tx).

Cash App Fees: 2.5 – 3% (depends on amount and location, and please visit their website for the exact fees if you want them)

Bitcoin Fees: All bitcoin purchases at Coinbase are charged a 1.49% processing fee, while all bitcoin sells are charged a 1.78% processing fee using Coinbase USD wallet; other wallets incur varying rates depending on geographic region and payment method used.

It is worth noting that credit card transactions will be subject to bank transaction fees which we have no control over.

What Are The Differences Between Cash App And Coinbase?

The Cash App and Coinbase are essentially used to buy and sell cryptocurrencies. They both store the cryptocurrencies in digital wallet apps on their respective smartphones, allowing users to make instant transactions online.

However, there are some critical differences between these two services:

1. Fees: The Cash App has a flat 1% fee when purchasing or selling Bitcoin (Bitcoin is automatically sold for cash), but that fee can be avoided if you use your linked debit card when making a purchase instead.

On the other hand, Coinbase charges fees ranging from 1.49%-3.99% when purchasing or selling cryptocurrency, depending on your country and the payment method used.

2. Transfer Speed: Since transactions made through the Cash App go from person to person instead of from wallet to wallet, they are completed instantaneously.

On the other hand, since cryptocurrencies purchased on Coinbase are stored in wallets external to Cash App users, transaction times vary depending on the cryptocurrency you’re trying to buy or sell.

3. Minimum Purchase Amounts: The Cash app’s minimum Bitcoin purchase order is $10, whereas Coinbase’s is $0.0085 BTC.

4. Availability: Both apps are available for both iOS and Android. However, the Cash App only allows transactions involving Bitcoin between Cash App users, while Coinbase allows transactions with many forms of fiat currency and several cryptocurrencies.

5. Customer Service: The founders of the two companies have very different ideas about handling customer service.

While Coinbase offers online support through its app and website, the Cash App does not have any way for users to contact customer service directly. However, they are currently working on several different offering customer services.

Can I Use my Cash App Card on Coinbase?

Answer: Yes – you can use your Cash card to buy Bitcoin on Coinbase. However, there are two essential things to remember when using your Cash card in this manner.

First, the $5 cashback bonus will not be awarded after purchasing Bitcoin through Coinbase via the Cash app.

Second, while it is possible to avoid fees by linking your bank account instead of a credit or debit card to use with these transactions, it may cause problems with repeated purchases if you do not have an adequate bank balance.

It’s also worth noting that any other spending outside of buying cryptocurrency directly could run up against daily limits for unverified accounts. In contrast, verified accounts have a more generous limit of $10,000 per day.

Is it Safe to Send Bitcoin from Cash App to Coinbase?

Generally speaking, sending Bitcoin from one wallet or service onto another is considered entirely safe. However, there are minor risks associated with using wallet services and external systems such as exchanges like Coinbase.

Likewise, both the sender and receiver must take certain precautions when sending and receiving funds on these platforms, respectively.

First of all, remember that if you input the wrong wallet address, no one will recover it. This is why you should always triple-check that your wallet address is correct before sending funds.

Secondly, the convenience of using services like these does come at a cost for both parties. The transaction fee can sometimes cause an issue for the receiver, but if they choose to use an external service instead of their wallet, there are risks involved.

What If I Have Problems Sending Bitcoin from Cash App to Coinbase?

The most common problem that many people experience is that they send their bitcoin from the Cash app to Coinbase, but it doesn’t show up on their Coinbase account. There’s a couple of reasons why your transaction might not be shown up on Coinbase or get stuck in “Pending” status for hours, even days. In some cases, users have reported waiting almost a week for their transactions to show up.

The most important thing to understand is that when you send Bitcoin from Cash App to Coinbase, they go through a 3rd party intermediary called ‘BTCjam.’ When your coins leave the Cash app, they don’t go directly to Coinbase. Instead, your coins go into BTCjam’s wallet, where they stay for a few days before being sent back out again to their final destination (Coinbase).

Each time when this intermediary takes place, delays can happen. The length of these delays varies between hours and days, so there’s no natural way for us to know how long it’s going to take exactly. In some cases, users have reported that their transactions were stuck with zero confirmations for over a week.

Cash App Customer Support

As most people know, most businesses have a customer support hotline that can help with problems or answer questions. While the Cash App is still relatively new and has had little to no issues with users thus far, let’s talk about what you can do if you run into a problem while using the app.

Some may not realize this, but Cash App offers another form of support other than emailing them or using their live chat.

If you ever need immediate help with something – for example, if your card was suddenly declined when sending money even though there should be enough funds in there – then all you need to do is go onto the app itself (it’s available on both iOS and Android) and press the number at the bottom right of the home screen.

This will then send a popup that says “Need Help?” and from there, you’ll be able to chat with a customer support representative in real-time.

Coinbase Customer Support

The Coinbase customer support is an institution that deals with problems, solutions, inquiries, and complaints among its customers.

This is a section where the clients are responsible for any issue they face, whether the problem has to do with purchasing or selling Bitcoins or even contacting them through email.

The Coinbase customer service includes Bitcoin transactions on behalf of businesses and consumers, both on retail and Bitcoin-related businesses such as exchanges and payment processors.

Wrapping Up

Cash App offers near-instant transfers for most users with no fee to send or receive, but they require additional confirmation steps when adding a card to your account. This can be inconvenient, and not all banks support this application yet.

Overall, Cash App is easy and inexpensive for small transactions within the US, but do not use it to transfer coins between Coinbase and other exchanges unless necessary.
