What browser is Google Maps compatible with? ›

Browsers and operating systems

To use the full Google Maps with 3D imagery and Earth view, you need the latest version of one of these browsers: Google Chrome. Firefox. Safari.

Update the Google Maps app.

Either update Google Maps through the App Store by going to the App Store, tapping on your Profile and scrolling down to check app updates (tap on Google Maps if it's listed) or do a background app refresh. From your device's settings, verify that the Background App Refresh is enabled.

To find more Maps settings, choose Preferences, scroll down, then tap Maps Settings at the bottom of the screen. To change the units used in Maps, go to Settings > General > Language & Region > Measurement System, then select an option. You can edit a favorite or change the address used for your home or work.

To download Google Maps for iPhone or iPad, make sure your phone or tablet is on iOS 15 and above. Download the latest version of the Google Maps app in the Apple App Store.
