Roblox has wiped a truly integral part of the game, removing the famous "oof" sound from the platform due to a "licensing issue," the developer said.

On Tuesday, the massively multiplayer online game's developer Roblox Corporation announced the decision on Twitter, and noted a replacement was launching immediately on the platform.

"Related to sounds, due to a licensing issue we have removed the “oof” sound from Roblox and have created a replacement default sound which launches today," the company tweeted.

As Kotaku points out the "oof" sound was created by former game composer and Intellivision CEO Tommy Tallarico and it's not the first time Roblox has run into licensing issues around it.
