Paintballing FAQs - Official Delta Force Paintball website (2024)

What do I need to bring on the day?

Players should wear old, comfortable clothing and may also want to bring a change of clothes for the conclusion of the game. We strongly recommend boots with ankle support and deep tread/rubber soles - it can be muddy, wet and slippery in the woodlands. Some players may choose to wear wellies if it is muddy during the winter months – but it is up to each individual to decide if they want to choose a waterproof option rather than the safety of ankle support. Paintball gloves are available to buy at the centre, or you can bring your own. You may also want to bring some money for purchasing additional paintballs (we accept cash and credit/debit cards verified by PIN only.

Can I bring my own paintball equipment?

You can bring certain items of your own equipment to the centre, but it is always at the discretion of the Centre Manager whether you can use it. You can bring your own goggles, provided they are designed for paintball games and have not been modified in any way. You can bring your own gun to national paintball centres, but you will only be able to use it if you have arranged a private game and only if it can operate from a Delta Force Paintball gas bottle. The use is at the discretion of the Centre Manager, and the gun will be subjected to a chronograph test. We do NOT allow any customers' own gas cylinders at any of our paintball centres for ANY REASON.

Can I bring my own paintballs?

For health and safety reasons, and to maintain a consistent safety standard across all centres, you can only use paintballs issued by Delta Force Paintball on the day of your event.

How many paintballs will I need?

There is no way of knowing how many paintballs any individual will use, as it depends on how trigger-happy you are. It is entirely up to each person how many paintballs they want to use. The average use across the entire the company (by Juniors and Adults) is 400-500 paintballs per person per session. You can purchase paintballs at the centre throughout the day, during the breaks between games.

How can I purchase additional items on the day?

Additional items such as paintballs, gloves and paintball grenades (for players aged 18+ years) can be purchased from the paintball shop at national centres with cash or card (verified by pin only). Please note we do not accept payment at the centre by cheque.

Is paintball suitable for children?

Parents need to know about the nature of the activity and decide for themselves whether their particular child is hardy, and mature enough to participate in paintball. To help you with this, we have compiled an 'Information for Parents' guide, which can be included in your information pack or requested from our friendly staff by calling 0203 869 9135. Please also see the FAQ concerning 'Minimum Age' below for more information.

The minimum age of all players on the date of the game at national centres is between 7-10 years old, depending on the location chosen. We provide miniball for players between 7-10 years and standard paintball for everyone else. The equipment and level of supervision provided by Delta Force makes paintballing safe for any age of player - so it's not the 'danger' involved that determines our age limit - rather the fact that the equipment is quite heavy, and it's all a bit scary for very young children. Even adults find the hairs on the back of their necks standing-up when a wave of 'enemy' players surges towards them, guns blazing! Younger people may simply find this too intimidating. Some 7-8 year olds might find it too much as well, so if you are in any doubt, please drop-by one of the centres on a weekend and have a look for yourself - the Centre Manager would be delighted to arrange a tour for you. Our insurance is not limited by age - people of all ages are fully insured. Please speak to one of our event co-ordinators to find the closest venue that offers mini paintballing.

What food and drink is available at the centre?

All our venues provide drinks & snacks for purchase at the shop.

Can we bring alcohol to the centre?

No alcohol is permitted at our paintball centres. Any players who have been drinking will be excluded from the games and asked to leave the centre.

What days are you open?

Most of our national centres are open almost 365 days a year. We do strongly recommend booking your desired date well in advance to avoid disappointment. To check availability, please contact the booking office on 0203 869 9135.

What happens on the day?

On arrival, you will be greeted by our friendly staff who will check you in. After you have completed registration forms you will be kitted up with all the gear needed for the session and attend a compulsory safety briefing. Then the action starts! You will play 4-6 varied games during a session!

Do I need to fill out a registration form?

All players attending a national paintball centre are required to complete a registration online before they begin play. Players under 16 years must have their form signed by an adult; we suggest you send the links out with your invitations. For players attending a local centre, you may need to complete different forms on arrival.

How many players do I need to bring?

There is no minimum or maximum number of players required; any group size is fine (although we may require a minimum spend level in order to open a centre for a midweek game). You will be joined with other players on the day to make up a team. To have a private paintball game playing against members of your own group, you will need to bring a minimum of 50 players, or pay an additional fee.

Will my child be playing with adults?

Where possible we will join your group with a group of similar age. However, there are often groups of mixed ages (when parents like to play with their children, or there are older siblings joining in etc).

I want to secure a date but I'm not yet sure how many players I'll have. What should I do?

You can make your booking now for the players that you have confirmed, assuring you your desired game date. You can then add additional players onto your paintball booking up until a few days before your event.

What do I do if I get lost trying to find the centre?

To avoid getting lost we suggest you make sure all drivers in your group print the directions from the website and take these with them. Our directions are for guidance only, we recommend using a road map for more precise directions. If you do have trouble finding the centre, call us on 0203 869 9135 and one of our friendly staff will help you find your centre. Please note that our Head Office is based in Surrey and may not be aware of specific incidents in the area, such as road closures and road works. However, we will be able to put you in contact with someone who can help you further.

What happens if it rains?

The paintball games go ahead regardless, in all weather conditions. All game zones are based outdoors in woodland areas, so we recommend you bring wet weather gear and sturdy boots with ankle support and deep tread. Some players may opt for the comfort of wellington boots over the safety of boots with ankle support, and it is advisable to bring a spare pair of shoes to go home in. There are sheltered areas and lockers available to hire in the base camp where you can store your gear between games. Players may also like to wear a thin waterproof layer of clothing under the combat suit we issue you for the day.

What times can we play?

Paintball game day is comprised of 2 different sessions namely Morning Session and Afternoon Session.

Summer Itinerary
Morning session is from 10:00am until 01:00pm.
Afternoon session is from 02:00pm until 05:00pm.

Winter Itinerary
Morning session is from 09:00am until 12:00pm.
Afternoon session is from 12:30pm until 03:30pm.

All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. However, credits may be carried forward and used for a future paintball booking.

Can I use the paintballs if a player does not turn up on the day and I have already paid for them?

Unfortunately not. If anyone fails to attend the event on the date you have booked, the prepayment and paintballs for that person will be forfeited for the day. All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable, however credits can be carried forward and used for a future visit.

How do I book a day of paintball?

To book, all you need to do is call us on 0203 869 9135 and speak to one of our friendly operators to check availability and book your event, alternatively you can email us and we will call you straight back or you can ask us to call you at a particular time, or complete the online booking enquiry form. Another option is to drop in to your nearest Delta Force Paintball centre and speak to the manager at the centre. Please note: it is essential you call in advance and make an appointment to visit your preferred centre.

Will my team be playing with members of the public or can I book a private game?

Teams will be divided equally by age, group size, and paintballing experience so as to ensure all games are competitive, safe and enjoyable for all players, however if your team prefers to play amongst themselves, on their own game zones with a dedicated marshal throughout the day, please speak to our bookings team or our online chat team regarding the rates to book a private game. Teams of 50 players or more will automatically qualify for a free private game.
