Millions of DIY tax filers can file their taxes on Intuit Credit Karma for free this tax season (2024)

Credit Karma wants to help millions of Americans file their taxes quickly and for free, and get faster access to their refund with Credit Karma Money

This tax season, Credit Karma members can file their taxes with TurboTax directly on Credit Karma. Tax filers who did not file with TurboTax last year and who choose to do their taxes themselves will be able to file their federal and state taxes in the Credit Karma app at no cost1, and in some cases in as little as 10 minutes. Members who prefer not to file their taxes on their own can receive expert tax assistance for an additional cost, giving them more peace of mind that they filed correctly. Eligible members will also have the option to get faster access to cash this tax season, including access to their refund up to five days early2, and receive recommendations on how to make the most of their refund.

Through this seamless tax filing experience, taxpayers can access their refund up to five days early when they deposit it into a Credit Karma Money™ account or, for those who qualify, get a Refund Advance loan4 in as little as 30 seconds after IRS acceptance5. Tax refunds are often the biggest windfall of the year for many Americans and this integration will enable members to access their money faster, so they can make a plan for their money.

Members who choose to receive personalized guidance from Credit Karma and are due a refund will receive recommendations about how to leverage their refund to make financial progress, such as opening a high-yield savings account with Credit Karma Money to start earning interest on their savings. Filers can also get access to other opportunities for making financial progress, like applying for a Credit Builder plan6 to begin building credit and saving money. With Credit Builder, members have been able to improve their credit score by an average of 21 points in just four days.7
