You can get MEE6 or your Custom Bot to send a message when new users join your server.This is useful if you want to send a new user a list of rules, info about how to use the server, tips, or even just a warm welcome. To set up join messages, head on over to yourserver dashboard>Server Management>Welcome Send welcome messages to a Discord channel To send a join message to a specific channel in your server, enable and configure the option"Send a message when a user joins the server", and select a channel for the message to be sent to.
You can either send the welcome message in a Discord channel, or directly to the user through a direct message.
After configuring the join message, the next time a user joins your server, MEE6 will give them a warm welcome in the channel you selected.
Make sure MEE6 has permissions to read messages and send messages in the channel settings for the welcome channel.
Send welcome messages directly to the user
To send a private join message to new users, enable and configure the option"Send a private message to new users".
After configuring the private join message, the next time a user joins your server, they will be sent a message welcoming them to your server.
For users to successfully receive the Private Message, they will need to allow private messages for servers they join. They can enable this in User Settings > Privacy & Safety > "Allow direct messages from server members"
Send fancy welcome card when new members join your server
To be able to use all customization options for the welcome card, you will need MEE6 Premium
Enabling the "Send a welcome card when a user joins the server" option allows MEE6 to send a fancy welcome card when the new user joins the server.With MEE6 Premium you are able to edit the text that appears on the card, the font of the text, the color of the text, and even change the background color/upload your own custom image.
Recommended image size for welcome cards:1280 x 581 px
Or any other 11:5 resolution.
You can crop images of different size directly during the upload.
Send stylish embeds instead of a plain boring text message You can enable the "embed" option for both welcome messages (message to server and private message to user). This allows you to send nice-looking messages with titles, images and fields, instead of your usual text.
