How to send cash using our app
- Tap Transact
- Tap Send cash and enter your Remote PIN
- Tap the button to send cash
- Choose "From" account
- Enter the amount you want to send
- Create a 4-digit secret code (this will be used to collect the cash)
- Tap Next
- Read theterms and conditions, tick the boxes and tap Accept
- Tap Yes to confirm the transaction
- You'll receive an SMS with the reference number – send it to the recipient
- Send the secret code to the recipient in a separate message
How to send cash using Internet banking
- Sign in on Internet banking
- Go to the payments menu
- Select Send Cash
- Click Continue to send cash
- Select ‘From’ account
- Enter the amount to be sent
- Create the 4-digit secret code
- Click Send the Cash
- Open the Capitec app and approve the authorisation message
How to view your send cash history using Internet banking
- Sign in on Internet banking
- Go to the payments menu
- Select Send Cash
- Click View my Send Cash history
How to update the secret code for unredeemed vouchers
- Sign in on Internet banking
- Go to the payments menu
- Select Send Cash
- Click View my Send Cash history
- Select the unredeemed voucher
- Click Update secret code
- Enter a new 4-digit secret code
- Click Continue to Update secret code
- Open the Capitec Bank app and approve the authorisation message
How to send cash using USSD
- Dial *120*3279# and reply 9
- Accept theterms and conditions
- Reply 1
- Choose "From" account
- Enter the amount you want to send
- Create a 4-digit secret code (this will be used to collect the cash)
- Enter your Mobile Banking PIN
The reference number
- The reference number for the cash sent will be SMSed to your registered cellphone number
- Send the SMS to the recipient, who needs the reference number to collect the cash
- Remember to send the secret code in a separate message, as it will not appear in the SMS
How much does it cost?
- To send R40 – R1 000: R9.50 on our app, online banking or *120*3279#
- To send R1 010 – R3 000: R16 on our app or online banking
- Collecting the cash is free at Shoprite, Checkers, Usave, Pick n Pay and Capitec ATMs

- You can send up to R1 000 per transaction
- The daily limit is R1 000 and you can send up to R24 990 cash per month
App and Internet banking
- You can send up to R3 000 per transaction
- The daily limit is R5 000 and you can send up to R24 990 cash per month
What you need to collect your cash
- The reference number (this is sent by SMS to the sender)
- The 4-digit secret code
How to collect your cash
- Visit any Pick n Pay, Boxer, Checkers, Usave, Shoprite or Capitec ATM near you
- When collecting in one of the partner stores, tell the teller that you have a cash transfer from a Capitec client
- The teller will then ask for the reference number
- You’ll be asked for the secret code (some retailers may ask you to confirm your name, surname, and cellphone number)
- Once validated, the cash will be paid to you instantly
