Chart Settings Explanations

The following is a summary of chart settings options listed above:

  1. Show Positions – This is a useful visualization feature that I find really useful. It provides a visual of active position/s on the security with dynamic P/L for that trade. A flag will display after an order is executed. The feature also has useful buttons to help manage the trade.

  1. Show Buy or Sell buttons* – Positions the buy and sell buttons directly on the chart. This is a shortcut to open the order panel

There are 2 easy methods for executing a trade directly on the TradingView charts. Either by ‘Right clicking’ directly on the chart at the price you want to place the trade or clicking the ‘Plus’ icon on the Y-axis. I will discuss both these methods below:

Step 2: If you have a trade and order in mind, ‘right click’ on where you want to place your trade. A drop down menu will appear.

How to Modifying Orders in TradingView

There are 2 main methods that I like to use to modify orders in TradingView. Either directly from the chart using the order flags or via the Trading Panel. I will discuss both of these methods below.

This will open the Modify Order window to the right of the chart.

Step 4: Enter the new amount > Click Modify Order

How to Modifying Orders in TradingView using the order Flags

The order flags are a really nice feature that offers a visual representation of the orders currently active.

These flags can also be used to modify orders. Flags can be moved to amend order placement price. Order quantities can be amended or orders can be cancelled using the ‘x’.

This is a quicker way to modify an order. However, it might be more difficult to be precise on the price as it requires a drag mechanism on the chart.

Step 1: Locate the flag or label of the active order

Step 2: Hover on the flag until you see the cursor turn into a hand with the pointer finger

Step 3: Click and hold the flag > Drag to the new price level
