Sadly, this means that, if you don't own this game, you can't catch Arceus in either Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
Instead, if you want to catch Giratina in Pokemon Legends: Arceus then you'll need to head over to Turnback Cave in the Colbalt Coastlands. Inside here you'll be able to battle and catch Giratina.
How to Catch Arceus. Only the truly diligent Pokemon Trainers will unlock the ability to meet the Legendary Pokemon Arceus. Complete all of the Main Missions, through #26, Seeking the Remaining Plates. This will begin request #27 The Deified Pokemon.
You can have everyone at research level 1 and as long as you have caught all 239 pokemon you will meet Arceus. If you're not sure which pokemon you're missing, look it up online.
