Outline

What Is Trust Wallet?

At the time of writing this guide, there are more than 35 active cryptocurrencies with Bitcoin and Ethereum being the two popular ones. If you are actively using or investing in more than one cryptocurrency, then a safe “wallet” is your utmost requirement.

Trust Wallet is one such wallet, which is free to use and can store many cryptocurrencies and even NFTs. It is available for both Android and iOS devices. You can download it from respective stores.

What can you do with Trust Wallet? The first thing you can do is store all your cryptocurrencies on multiple blockchain networks.

You can also swap or exchange your cryptocurrencies for another one. If you want to buy more cryptocurrency, then you can do it in the Trust Wallet.

If you are into NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), then you can collect them using the DApp Browser (by accessing the NFT Marketplace).

What Is DApp Browser?

Speaking of DApp Browser, what exactly is it? Before understanding DApp Browser, we will take a quick look at the meaning of DApp.

DApp is short for Decentralized Application. If you take our regular apps, Facebook, Snapchat, etc., they run on servers all over the world that are under the control of the company.

So, it’s basic working, all your data and other important functions are under the company’s command. But a DApp is different. They do not come under the authority of a single entity rather they run on a blockchain network (a type of peer-to-peer network).

Do you remember BitTorrent? DApp is somewhat similar to that. When a creator develops a DApp, it runs in an open-source, public, and decentralized environment. Once the DApp is live, even the creator doesn’t have any control over the data.

Coming back to the DApp Browser, it is a Web3 (another new term, which we will see in the next section) Browser that allows users to connect with DApps on Blockchain Networks.

Using the DApp Browser, you can look for several DApps in the marketplace and install them in a secure way. Trust Wallet provides simple APIs for the developers to integrate their DApps into the Wallet and it also constantly vets all the DApps.

What Is Web3?

We mentioned the DApp Browser as a Web3 Browser. What does that mean? Web3 or Web 3.0 is the next iteration of the World Wide Web. Web 1.0 is all about the initial days of those Static HTML Web Pages.

With Web 2.0, the number of content creators has increased significantly. Also, the emergence of social media, E-Commerce, Media Sharing, etc. along with the availability of cheaper internet made the internet more approachable.

Coming to Web 3.0, it incorporates new concepts of decentralization and blockchain technologies. Due to this, Web3 has the potential to provide data security and user privacy.
