Switch networks on Metamask

Once you've added your desired network, you can switch networks by opening MetaMask and clicking at the top of the MetaMask extension. You'll see your current network displayed, click on it and you can select any network from the drop-down list.

To programmatically add a custom network to Metamask, you can use the request method of the ethereum object, passing it the wallet_addEthereumChain property. For example, the following code demonstrates how to add the Matic Network (Polygon) to Metamask: window. ethereum.

Then, open MetaMask, click on the Import tokens button and paste the contract's address in the Token contract address field. MetaMask will fetch the Token Symbol and decimals automatically. Click the Next and Import, and your token will be added to the wallet; it will be available under the assets section in Metamask.

This happens because of the updated MetaMask Wallet API — the Ankr Staking-related networks you added prior to the MetaMask update stopped working correctly. To fix this problem, all you need to do is to delete the networks you added earlier, than add them back again.
