Prime Access Membership: an alternative to a senior discount (for those who qualify)
Amazon doesn’t offer a specific senior discount, but certain seniors qualify for the Prime Access Membership. This subscription offers a reduced monthly subscription fee of $6.99 (a 50% discount). The benefits of a Prime Access Membership are exactly the same as a regular membership.
You can qualify for Prime Access Membership if you receive assistance from certain government programs like:
Medicaid
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
Direct Express Prepaid Debit Card
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
National School Lunch Program (NSLP)
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
Women, Infants and Children Program, or Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
You will need to show documentation of proof for eligibility. As part of the application process, you’ll need to upload a photo of an EBT card or other document on the Amazon site to qualify for the program.

Without eligibility for a Prime Access Membership through one of the programs mentioned above, seniors on Medicare pay the standard amount for an Amazon Prime Membership.
How much is Amazon Prime if you are on Social Security?
Amazon Prime does not have a discount for seniors who receive Social Security benefits. However, Social Security recipients who also receive SSI benefits may qualify for Prime Access. If you’re eligible, you’ll pay a reduced monthly cost of $6.99.
