I first heard of income reports about a year ago. I have been toying with the idea of sharing what I am making as a blogger but my income hasn’t been much. It’s still far from what we hope to be making each month but since my husband resigned from his job in August we have been focused on my blog income.
It has been a dream of mine to be a WAHF (work at home family) but I was thinking sometime like Summer 2016 not Fall 2015 but that’s okay. Sometimes you just have to roll with what life tosses your way!
Now on to the nitty gritty details of my income! Still amazed that I am actually writing this post. I feel it’s a great time to share the ways to make income plus it will helpease the pain of tax time.
Income Earned:
I am only going to count the actual money I was paid and NOT the money I earned in October for my income reports. I do social media campaigns for BlogHer and they pay 60 days after a campaign closes. This means that for the campaigns I completed with them in October I will not be paid until December 30. Sponsored posts from other media networks often operate the same way. Right now I have $185 from September that I should get paid in November. A few networks pay sooner at around 2 weeks after a promotion like TapInfluence.
Mystery Shopping:
Income Due: $100
Expense Reimbursem*nt: $94.53
I added Mystery Shopping as an additional income stream this month. I had joined a few websites 3-5 years ago and had totally forgotten about them. For some reason I decided to check my yahoo email and found a handful of shops in my local area that looked pretty easy and paid pretty well. I made sure to select jobs that I knew would not take too long, were close to home, and paid a decent amount of money. Most Mystery shopping companies do not reimburse mileage so you may need to apply to a handful in order for you to find local jobs. I will share my Favorite Mystery Shopping Companies soon I promise. Just waiting to get paid so I can be sure that they are indeed legit places to earn money!
Blog Traffic:
Everywhere you read about blogging tells you content is king and that high pageviews yield a higher income. This is true to a point but there are ways to start generating an income on smaller pageviews. I will have to say mine are still fluctuating and I am seriously thinking I have a hosting issue. (More about that later)
So you can see according to Google Analytics my pageviews for October were under 18,000! This is sorta mid-range for me so I am a little frustrated to say the least since I am linking up to more blog parties, sharing some more on Facebook, and trying to remember to schedule old posts that are seasonal and did well last year.
GOOD NEWS! You can make money with pageviews under 100,000, under 50,000 EVEN under 25,000! If you are new to blogging stick with it! Keep turning out amazing posts that have a pinnable image!
Income Paid:
S2O Virtual Services: ($240.16)
- Linky Party Service- $191.91 after Paypal fees
- Giveaway Party Service- $48.25 after Paypal fees
- Virtual Launch -$0
I am learning if I need immediate income then I have to promote my Virtual Services for bloggers like my linky party and giveaway link-up service. These blogger’s are very reliable and usually pay within 24 hours of being invoiced! I did get a monthly paying client that has agreed to pay a monthly rate for 12 links which is 3 links per week linked to at least 50 parties per week. I am also promoting my Virtual Product Launch service in order to be paid from small business owners or author’s who wish to get their product or book reviewed by bloggers. I am so very thankful for my hubby and my daughter who both are willing to take over the Linky Party and Giveaway Party services for me. This frees me up to take pictures, write posts, and bid on new opportunities for our family.

I learned a valuable lesson this month. Be sure to check your “junk” email and stay on top of your networks. I didn’t realize that when Lijit merged with Svorn and Meridian that I would need to confirm my account AND update my profile including HOW TO GET PAID!! I hadn’t gotten paid since early Summer. I had almost $150 sitting there waiting to be released. If I had found this 3 days sooner I might have been paid in October. Now I have to wait until November’s payout.

- Amazon– $10.69 (earned in October)
- Commission Junction- $0
- Share a Sale- $91 (Affiliate Sign-ups)
- Notebooking Pages- $2.50
I really worked hard on promoting some Gymboree sales as well as affiliate sign-up bonuses for Reebok, Gymboree, and Tea Collection. I didn’t have quite the results as I would have liked but seeing some money come in from those tweets and newsletter shares is still promising.
