How do I set a transaction limit for my credit card or for an Additional Cardholder's card on the TD app?
A transaction limit is an amount limit that you set on your personal credit card or an Additional Cardholder's card to make sure individual transactions over the set amount limit won't go through. This limit only applies to in-person and online purchases for each transaction. It does not apply to pre-authorized payments, ATM transactions with a Canadian dollar TD Credit Card, and transfers. You can change a transaction limit you've set any time you want on the TD app.
If you are the Primary Cardholder of a personal credit card, you can set transaction limits for any of your credit cards or for any Additional Cardholder's card.
Setting a transaction limit for your card
- From the left-hand menu, select My Accounts.
- Select your credit card.
- Select Manage.
- Select Transaction Limit.
- Enter the amount you want to set for each transaction.
- Select Set Limit.
Setting a transaction limit for an Additional Cardholder's card
- From the left-hand menu, select My Accounts.
- Select your credit card.
- Select Manage.
- Select Additional Cardholders (your list of Additional Cardholders will appear).
- Select an Additional Cardholder.
- Select Transaction Limit.
- Enter the amount you want to set for each transaction.
- Select Set Limit.
The transaction limit is instantly set. To change a transaction limit, simply follow the "Setting a transaction limit" steps again.
Additional Cardholders can't set a transaction limit on their card, but they can view the transaction limit set by the Primary Cardholder.
