How do I find current betas for companies and/or industries? (2024)

Mergent Online:Use the Company Search to find a company and access its profile. In the company profile, view the Company details tab. Then select the Highlights sub-tab. Seethe Stock Price and Valuation section for a current beta.

Financial Times (create an account using your @uwo.ca email address): In the main menu select Markets then Market Data. Use the Search Securitiesbox tofind a company and access itsprofile. The banner at the top of the company profile will include the current beta.

Factiva:Click on Companies/Markets. Then search for a company to access itscompany snapshot. Within the company snapshot, select Reports. Then choose theRatio Comparison Report from the drop-down and View Report. A 5 year beta can be found under the Valuation Ratios heading.

Bloomberg(available in the Business Library): Type aticker symbol,hit the Equity key,type BETA,and hit the GO key (e.g. AAPL US <Equity> BETA <GO>).

Capital IQ(available in the Business Library): Search for a company. Withinthe company profile, select Quick Comps under the Peer Analysisheading. Then click the Operating Statistics tab to view a table with a 5 year Beta.

For current industry betas try Betas by Sector created by Aswath Damodaran at NYU.
