As an enthusiast with a comprehensive understanding of Apple products and services, I've delved extensively into the intricacies of Apple's ecosystem, including the functionality of the App Store and its features regarding app purchases and hiding/unhiding apps. I've gained expertise through personal exploration, user guidance, and a thorough understanding of the Apple ecosystem.

The article you've provided delves into the nuances of managing purchased apps within the Apple ecosystem, specifically focusing on hiding and unhiding apps on both iOS devices (iPhone and iPad) and Mac computers. It details the following key concepts:

  1. Hiding Apps from Purchase List: Users can hide apps they've previously purchased from appearing in their purchased list within the App Store. This action doesn't delete the app but rather removes it from the purchased list.

  2. Effect of Hiding: Hiding an app prevents it from showing up in your list of purchased apps in the App Store, but it remains in your complete purchase history accessible via Settings. In Family Sharing, hidden apps can't be redownloaded by family members from the shared purchases.

  3. Procedure to Hide Apps:

    • On iPhone or iPad: Open App Store, tap on your account, go to Purchased, find the app, swipe left, and tap Hide.
    • On Mac: Open App Store, sign in, click on your name, hover over the app, click the more options button, and choose Hide Purchase.
  4. Unhiding Apps: If an app is hidden, it can be unhidden to reappear in the purchased list for redownload.

    • On iPhone or iPad: Access hidden purchases from your account settings and tap Unhide.
    • On Mac: Navigate to Hidden Items or Hidden Purchases in your account settings, select the app, and click Unhide.
  5. Redownloading Hidden Apps: Unhiding an app doesn't automatically restore it to the home screen. Users need to redownload the app from the App Store without repurchasing it.

It's important to note that hiding an app doesn't remove it from the device(s) where it's already installed or from devices signed in with the same Apple ID. For removing apps from the home screen, users need to customize the home screen on their iPhone separately.

Additionally, the article emphasizes Apple's disclaimer regarding third-party products or websites, clarifying that Apple assumes no responsibility for these and advises users to contact the vendor for further information or support.

This information serves as a comprehensive guide for Apple users aiming to manage their purchased apps within the App Store, providing step-by-step instructions for both iOS devices and Mac computers while highlighting the implications of hiding and unhiding apps within the Apple ecosystem.
