If you've recently failed the Theory Test it can leave you feeling deflated, but there is good news. If you study and revise really hard, there's no reason why you should fail it again.
Don't forget that thepass rate for the Driving Theory Test in the UK between 2017 and 2018was48.7%, and in 2018/2019 it dropped again to 47.3%,so you’re probably not the only one ofyour friends to have failed.
Remember – a lot of the time people don’t mention they have their Theory Test until they receive their ‘congratulations’ letter!
Why are so many people saying they failedtheTheory Test now?
We know it sounds cliché – but failing to prepare is preparing to fail.
Do you know what the minimum depth of tyre threadis?
Do you know the stopping distance of a car travelling at 50mph?
Not knowing this sort of information can lead to a failed Theory Test, so make sure it isn't you!
A lot of learners think they can just ‘blag’ the theory with common sense, treating it as a small hurdle in the way of booking their practical test. But as you've found out – it’s not that simple!
The Theory Test is essential in ensuring you have the knowledge to be safe behind the wheel. So learn from your last test, and prepare fully for the re-sit.
Are my nerves to blame for a failed Theory Test even though I revised properly?
It's true that many learners go to the test fully prepared with a lot of revision under their belt, but crumble with nerves at the last minute.
If this happened to you, try to relax and don't beat yourself up about it too much.
Continue to revise as much as possible leading up to the resit, and build your confidence with official style mock tests and consistent passes, like what is found in our Driving Theory Test 4 in 1 App.
