Safaritent Oostvoorne is one of those excellent glamping options in The Netherlands. The tent is fully equipped, with nice beds, a dining area, complete kitchen and a comfy lounge set on your own decking. It even has a private bathroom. De Verloren Sinjoor

Glamping in The Netherlands: the best places to go (2)

If you’re wondering if glamping in Holland is any fun, I think De Verloren Sinjoor pretty much proves that it is. Scattered over the large campsite are a dozen or so covered wagons. These are decorated so nicely, with comfy beds, couches and even a tv. If you’re going in a cooler season, don’t worry. The wagons also have a small heater. The campsite offers fun for kids, with playgrounds, a petting zoo and pony rides. If you don’t feel like cooking, don’t worry: there’s a decent restaurant right across the road. De Verloren Sinjoor is situated in the southern strip of Noord-Brabant, not too far from Landal Vennenbos and the border with Belgium. From De Verloren Sinjoor day trips to Den Bosch, Van Gogh Village Nuenen and a day outing to Efteling are an absolute must.

Landal Sluftervallei

Glamping in The Netherlands: the best places to go (3)

I am such a huge fan of Landal Sluftervallei. It’s probably my favourite holiday park in Holland, particularly because all accommodation is scattered amongst the dunes, making you feel completely one with nature. The holiday park is situated on the beautiful Dutch island of Texel, which you simply have to explore. Its nature and tranquillity are unique in The Netherlands. And there’s glamping available at Landal Sluftervallei; fully equipped lodge tents with comfortable beds, a private bathroom and shower and complete kitchen. The lodge tents are pitched up at the edge of the park with unlimited views over the national park.

Hof Domburg

Glamping in The Netherlands: the best places to go (4)

Domburg is one of the loveliest seaside towns in The Netherlands. I spent many summer holidays here when I was little and remember absolutely loving it. If you’d like to go glamping in Holland, Roompot Hof Domburg offers lodge tents for four and six persons. The tents are fully furnished, have two or three bedrooms with comfortable beds, a fully equipped kitchen and your own bathroom facilities. From Domburg, I highly recommend visiting the beautiful city of Middelburg.

Duinrell

Glamping in The Netherlands: the best places to go (5)

When you’re travelling to The Netherlands with your kids, staying at Duinrell is highly recommended. I speak from experience as I spent some summers here with my parents and some English relatives. And so much fun was had. Duinrell is a well-known funpark in The Netherlands with lots of rides for different age groups and a large waterpark. When you’re staying at the Duinrell holiday park, admission to the park is included. Glamping-wise Duinrell has a lot of choices. From staying in chalets to luxurious and fully furnished lodge-tents. Duinrell is located close to The Hague, where there is lots to see and do. And the beaches of Scheveningen, Wassenaar and Katwijk aan Zee are just a stone’s throw away.

Did you know The Netherlands are quite the surf destination? Certain beaches in The Netherlands are perfect for kiting and windsurfing. Bloemendaal is one of the most popular beaches in The Netherlands, as well as the perfect spot to hit the surf. And when you want to stay right on the beach, Surfana Beach Bed & Breakfast is just the perfect stay. You can stay in pod-like tents with single beds or a double bed. At the campsite, there’s a surf school, a café, a night club and loads more facilities. If you’d like to take a break from surfing for a day or an afternoon, Haarlem is just around the corner. Here you can visit the Frans Hals Museum, for example. And Amsterdam is also not too far from Surfana.

Glamping aan de plas

Glamping in The Netherlands: the best places to go (7)
Glamping in Amsterdam, is that even possible? In the city centre, not really of course. But you don’t have to move far from the centre of Amsterdam to find glamping possibilities. Glamping aan de plas offers a stunning lodge tent, completely furnished and equipped with all the luxury you could possibly think of. The tent has its own private terrace, a private bathroom and lovely furniture. The tent is located at Vinkeveense plassen, a lake area just outside Amsterdam where a lot of residents go to relax on weekends.

Tiny house of happiness

Glamping in The Netherlands: the best places to go (8)

Have you ever dreamed of staying in a tiny house? I think that Tiny House of Happiness is one of the prettiest, and most luxurious, tiny houses in The Netherlands. Its location is just perfect, in Otterlo at the entrance of National Park Hoge Veluwe. This is one of Holland’s favourite holiday destination and from the tiny house, you can visit Kröller Möller Museum and see the gorgeous works by Van Gogh or grab one of the free white bikes to explore the stunning nature in the national park. Tiny House of Happiness is beautifully set in between the trees and the inside of the house is just as amazing, with a comfy couch and bed and a garden set to relax on.

Duynpark Het Zwanenwater

Glamping in The Netherlands: the best places to go (9)

Duynpark Het Zwanenpark offers beautiful lodge tents that are surrounded by beautiful dunes. The holiday park and camping is only a stone’s throw away from the Callantsoog beach, one of the most stunning beaches in The Netherlands. The lodge tents are furnished beautifully and are surrounded by nature. Not to far from your tent, there are some great restaurant and beach club options.

Sterrenkubus

Glamping in The Netherlands: the best places to go (10)
Star gazing at one of the most unspoilt spots in The Netherlands isn’t a problem when staying in a Sterrenkubus (star pod). The tiny houses are located at beautiful estate Erfgoed Bossom in the far east of The Netherlands, a stone’s throw away from the border with Germany. The pods are completely sustainable and self-sufficient and from your bed, you can see the stars through your skylight. Staying at Erfgoed Bossom is quite the culinary experience as well, as the owners offer amazing meals, ice creams and snacks from local resources.
