If your car or Bluetooth accessory isn’t connecting to your phone, try the solutions below.

Step 1: Check Bluetooth basics
- Turn Bluetooth off and then on again. Learn how to turn Bluetooth on and off.
- Confirm that your devices are paired and connected. Learn how to pair and connect via Bluetooth.
- Restart your devices. Learn how to restartyour Pixel phone or Nexus device.
Step 2: Troubleshoot by problem type
Step 1: Clear devices from your phone's memory
- Open your phone's Settings app.
- TapConnected devices
Previously connected devices. If you don't see "Previously connected devices," tap Bluetooth. - If you see devices you're not currently using, next to each device name, tap Settings ForgetForget device.
- If you paired your phone and carbefore, next to your car's name, tap Settings ForgetForget device.

- TapPair new deviceyour car's name.

- On your car's list of devices, pick your phone's name.
- If asked, checkthat the PINs shown on yourphone and car's screens match.
- TapAllow access to your contacts and call history.
- Tap Pair,Accept, orConfirm.
Can't pair withWear OS
- If you're pairing your watch with your phone for the first time, try these troubleshooting steps.

Can't pair with other accessories
- Check that your accessory is discoverable and ready to pair.Follow the instructions that came with your accessory.
- Often, you'll see a blue light on an accessory when it's ready to pair.
- You must connect some accessories, like folio keyboards, to your phone or tablet before they can pair.
- Refresh your accessory list.
- Open your phone's Settings app.
- TapConnected devices. If you see"Bluetooth," tap it.
- Tap Pair new deviceyour accessory's name.
- If your accessory needs a passcode and you don't have it, try
0000or1234(the most common passcodes).
Important: Not all cars can playmusic by Bluetooth. If the problem is with a car, checkthe car's manual.
- Checkthat thevolume is up on your phone and car or accessory.
- Check that other devices paired with your phone aren't playing the music.
- Check that Media audiois turned on:
- Open your phone's Settings app.
- TapConnected devices.If you see "Bluetooth," tap it.
- If you see Previously connected devices,tap it.
- Next to your car or accessory's name, tapSettings .
- Turn on Media audio.
Important: Not all cars can make or get phone calls by Bluetooth. If the problem is with a car, checkthe car's manual.
- Check that other devices paired withyour phone aren't getting your calls.
- Turn on Phone audio:
- Open your phone's Settings app.
- TapConnected devices. If you see "Bluetooth," tap it.
- If you see Previously connected devices,tap it.
- Next to your car or accessory's name, tap Settings .
- Turn on Phone audio.
