Dividend Kings 2019: Who's on the list · Cara Peterson (1)

What are Dividend Kings?

A Dividend King is a stock with 50 years or more of consecutive dividend increases. Unlike the S&P 500 Dividend Aristocrats, this list of companies is not officially tracked by the ratings companies.

The list below focuses on the companies headquartered in the United States. The list will change depending on the country you’re looking to focus on.

Dividend Kings may not also be a Dividend Aristocrats because the list below is not tied to the S&P 500.

Before you buy shares in a Dividend King company

You’ve probably heard this before but don’t forget that past results don’t guarantee future performance. It’s not certain a dividend king will continue on its trend of dividend increases forever. These companies have weathered difficult economic and market conditions in the past. The future could result in a stumble.

Always do your own research prior to making a purchase in any company. Make sure the company is currently healthy and on a solid trend forward. Compare the stock’s current price to its 52-week high to determine if it’s a good deal or if you have found a better value for the moment. And decide if the stock fits your dividend investing strategy. Not all great companies are great opportunities at any given time.
