With the expiration of the Dubai ID/UAE SmartPass in December 2020, all government services for residents are now accessed via the UAE Pass. The official online system creates a national digital identity for each resident. It can be used to avail of various federal and local government services through a single application. With the UAE PASS, you no longer need multiple usernames and passwords. Here’s all the information about the portal.

WHAT IS THE UAEPASS?

Launched in 2018, the UAE Passis a key element of the UAE’s long-term development strategies – providing sustainable infrastructure and the environment in particular.

The UAE PASS, dubbed as the “First National Digital Identity”, is a useful tool for remote identification for the use of online government services. This digital ID is single-handedly equivalent to the real identity of a person or entity in the UAE.

UAE Pass is a joint effort by Smart Dubai, Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) and the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority. This single login electronic signature replaced DubaiID or SmartPass solutions as a unified login credential for all online government transactions across the UAE, including paying utility bills and filing residence visa applications. The electronic signature generated by your UAE Pass is legally valid for transactions and documentation across all emirates.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR UAE PASS

The UAE Pass registration is a two-phase process – online and physical verification at a designated kiosk. To register for UAE Pass online, you need to:

  • Download the UAE PASS application on your phone.
  • Scan your original Emirates ID to initiate the verification process.
  • Verify the information and set up a pin number (not to be shared with anyone).
  • Head out to a UAE PASS kiosk near you for final verification.
  • Insert your Emirates ID in the self-service machine and follow the instructions on the screen.
  • Scan your fingerprint to obtain your UAE PASS login credentials.

You can also use the UAE Pass app to register. The app uses biometric face recognition to register the users. This allows you to get registered in less than 5 minutes and you don’t even have to visit the kiosk for verification.
