Does Aflac have supplemental health insurance? ›

If you have any type of insurance plan, you may have noticed that there may be gaps not covered by your primary insurance provider. That's where supplemental health insurance comes in. Aflac is a leader in supplemental health insurance companies and offers term and whole life plans too.

You don't have to enroll in your employer's plan. But in general, coverage offered by employers is less expensive than coverage purchased through the health care market.

Supplemental insurance is coverage that you can buy in addition to your primary health plan. These policies can help provide coverage for certain kinds of illnesses, accidents and injuries, and life insurance. Supplemental health policies are different from traditional health plans.

Many Aflac policies range anywhere from $8 to $25 or more per month. You can contact Aflac directly for more information on specific supplemental insurance plans that pique your interest.

For instance, if your health insurance plan has poor benefits with hefty out-of-pocket costs, purchasing a supplemental plan can be valuable. On the other hand, if you already have an excellent health insurance plan with good coverage and low out-of-pocket costs, you might find that a supplemental plan isn't necessary.
